Keep it clean !!!
Wish all my days detailing were like the last couple of days. Weather has been beautiful here in NJ, and I have been having some fun again. This 2007 Aston Martin is a weekly hand wash customer, and after finishing the job, I had to take a few quick pics of this piece of automotive art.



The 2000 Porsche Boxter S was complete int/ext detail, and was also a very special car. The Speed Yellow paint needed a bit of leveling, but after a thorough buffing with Hi Temps Heavy Cut Leveler and Optimum Polish the paint was near showroom and ready for sealing with Meg’s #21.



The Black Range Rover was given a 5 hour detail about 9 weeks ago, and serves to demonstrate that consistent and careful hand washing with the 2 bucket method with MF wash mitts and a quality shampoo will maintain the paint near showroom. The car is hand waxed with a pure non-cleaner carnubu wax every 4 weeks and it really still looks great. The car missed week last week, and it is evident by the build-up of Brembo brake dust on the painted wheel.



Not bad for a daily driver (about 100 miles a day).

Damn that Aston is a gorgeous ride. One of my clients has a DB7, nice, but not as nice as that one. I figured the Range would have red calipers too since the other two have :). What is the non cleaner pure carnauba(spell) that you use on the Range?
 
MobileJay: I used Auto Magics EZ-Paste Wax. Just like the product name easy on and off. I typically use S100/P21 on black, but I am out of it, and will be picking some up this week.

The Range Rovers caliphers are pretty lame on this one. I have another customer with the same SUV, but his caliphers are painted and cleared, and look so much better than these.



ZaneO: The wheels look a lot worse than they were, because of the weekly maintenance. This weekly cleaning really avoids letting dust build up and bake into the clear on the wheel. I used a non-acid wheel cleaner on each of these wheels with a 12" brush and a pressure washer. I also use a soft wheel brush and an old wash mitt to really get inside the wheel. I absolutely love the look of wheels & tires when they are thoroughly bcleaned inside and out and dressed.
 
Sexy Aston Martin:drool: Are those OEM rims on the Porsche? I love the way the Rover's wheels came out, it's the little details, like cleaning the inside of the rim, that make the car seem *perfect.* Did you clean the calipers on the Rover, I'm just asking because I see what looks to be a stain on one of them. The Porsche's came out beautifully:xyxthumbs
 
kchau: i use a 2.5 inch natural bristol paintbrush to get at the caliphers. I spray whell cleener directly onto the brush and then agitate the surface of the calipher prior to pressure washing.



93AccordLXwhite: The Rover's caliphers are stained, and are not clearcoated. Would defenitely need to remove the wheels completely to attack these.

It is very nice when you get to maintain a vehicle. Like you said the wheels alone are so much easier.

I don't think it's up for discussion - the Aston Martin is simply perfect automotive design in practice. Great job on the details!
 
^ +1. AMs are definitely the pinnacle of automotive design. and you have done an excellent job at maintaining the beauty!
