Aston Martin Paint Question

It would appear from reading many threads here that one of the primary factors in choosing polish and sealant products is the paint finish of the car--"hard" "soft" "thick" thin",etc.

I have just taken delivery of a new 2007 Aston Martin Vantage and was hoping one or more of the many contributing pros to this forum had some experience with this paint finish and could recommend products to keep it perfect.

My previous car was a C6 Corvette which was maintained with Merzerna and Zaino products. To get things started, the Aston has ben treated with Z5Pro x2, then Zaino CS, with a Z8 wipe down. Any and all insight from those with current Aston Martin experience would be most appreciated. Thanks HDjr

what ever you used on the vette will work on the aston. Beautiful car btw. I'll know more about the finish in a few days, :D although very different color.

HDjr,

You're on the right path with the Zaino and Menzerna.

Keeping your clearcoat in perfect shape however doesn't have as much to do with which products as it does with which technique you use when washing it (or whoever you have wash it) on an day to day basis.

Proper wash technique would look something like....(how I used to wash my 02 black Vette)

1 Clean and treat rims, tires and wells first with a Dawn soapy water (cuts grease and oils)

2 Zaino Car Wash with two buckets (one for rinsing mitt and one for fresh/clean soapy water)

3 Use multiple mitts, one for top panels and one for side panels, and one for behind wheels and lower panels.

4 Rinse

5 Dry with high velocity electric leaf blower

6 Touch up drippings with MF towels

7 Door jams and windows with MF towels

8 Hit it with a shot of Z8:hifive:

.....weekly and monthly treatments of Zaino products never hurt as well.

This will typically take you about 45 minutes but will significantly reduce your accumulation of swirls. :2thumbs:

Good luck, Josh

You should be more then fine with your current products.

My only complaint is that we need more pictures of the Aston!!

I've worked on a couple V8 Vantages, they were all on the soft side of average so if yours is the same you'll have a little more of a challenge when washing to keep light swirls way (as opposed to the Vette). Otherwise the products you're using will work well for protection.

That car is Beautiful!!!!!!!!! That thing is screaming with gloss!

For light marring I would use Z-aio. You will be impressed with it and it will fit right in to your product line.

Enjoy that car!
