armour all microfiber duster - any reason not to use it?

I bought an Armor All Microfiber duster a few years ago from Walmart, but never really used it. Is there any reason why I shouldn't use it? I am somewhat afraid it may induce scratches.

I personally use a California Car Duster on my car and I've never had any issues with marring although I OptiCoated my car.

You may be fine, but IMO it's not worth the risk. I'd be worried about it holding onto a piece of grit or something.

My opinion as well :xyxthumbs

While there are always people who are happy with such stuff ("hey, it never marred *my* paint"... or so they'll tell you...) approaches like that have eventually resulted in marring for me, and I was always as careful as I can imagine anybody being.

Don't touch it between washes unless you simply *must* remove a bird-bomb.

Thanks for the advice guys. I threw a car cover on it and will just leave it as-is for winter. Hopefully it doesn't attract unwanted attention sitting with a cover from thieves.

Those and the california duster and clones work great... with dust (as in the indoor kind)! Great for garage queens. Dirt on the other hand... no way. Anytime you drag dry dirt over your finish, you are scratching. A waterless wash is the only semi-safe way to deal with road dirt.
