I am buying Aquapel applications for $4.95/each, is this a good price?I am buying Aquapel applications for $4.95/each, is this a good price?

no... that's way too much... don't buy any at all... <wink wink> just out of curiosity... EXACTLY where are you getting this from?

Getting it for less than 5 bucks an application is a good deal. You won't find it for much better than that. Just make sure its a reputable dealer. I don't know what the Aquapel applicatiors are like, but if they are like the STP Vision Blades were then they can be broken and useless very easily.

Im thinking about trying that next year on my civic. I need something that will last on my winshield for half a year. Other than that, i use klasse aio and sg on all my other windows.

I got mine for $3.90 from frside007 on ebay; I've bought it from him twice now and been very happy with it. I can see how it could break in shipping, but it takes some force to get the two plastic wing tabs (if you've seen one, you know what I mean) to snap back and release the stuff.

Well that is a better deal than my boy off of E-bay DW0057 who sold them to me for 4.95. I only bought 6 so I will try your man next time. I have not used this stuff yet, what tips do you have? Also what should I retail it for, $20?

When I looked up Aquael on ebay a while back, it looked like two sellers were in a price war. Shipping looked to be quite pricey too.

AutoNova,

I found a distributor selling cases of 24 for $96 (which works out to $4 ea.), don't recall how much shipping was. I don't have the information for the distributor handy, but PM me if you want me to dig it up.

Yeah, I was paying $7.50 for shipping, too. I thought it was a little much, but it was the best deal I could find at the time.

I found that I needed 2 applications for my Mazda Protege5 and 2 for my wife's Pontiac Bonneville. If you had something like a Suburban, boy, you might need a few. 2 applications lets me do all the windows and the two side mirrors once. That's after cleaning the windows with vinegar and water. They were clayed at the beginning of November.

There was someone on here who was able to do all his windows once, plus his winshield twice, with one applicator. I think that was after glass polish, claying, etc. Just follow the instructions, it's pretty easy. Sure beats Rain-X. I had some wiper chatter on my windshield for a few days, but it went away and hasn't been back since.

$4.95 is a great price when you can find it. If a wholesaler is selling it for $96 a case plus shipping (24 units ) that works out to $4.33 ea. The seller has got to make a little something.

A note on wiper chatter...After you apply Aquapel you don't need to use your wipers as often as before. In a lot of cases you're running your blades over dry glass and blades will a chatter. After applying Aquapel use the intermitent mode of your wipers. I think less wipers on a slower/less sweeps per minute will usally solve your chatter problem. Of course this asumes you have new/good blades and not excessive wiper blade pressure on the glass .

Since I had several people PM me asking for the name of the distributor, I thought I'd just post it here:

Pricing was $96 for a case of 24, or $30 for a pack of 6 (this information is about six months old; price may have changed).

Caveat: I've never ordered from this company; I found them when I was searching for an Aquapel supplier online, but that was last fall, and I decided to wait to order until this spring once the weather changes for the better.
