Totoland Mach- [Insert usual :bow here regarding the quality of your work]

Did you have to use any touchup paint on the nasty scratches or did they wetsand/polish out?

I've got a few chips to fill in on the hood which I'll do tonight. The rest of the car's scratches were eliminated by Wool pad + compound. I'm still learning how to use wool effectively. My biggest hurdle is not working the wool long enough with the compound. Then I have to use a foam cutting pad and compound to remove the wool scratches. By working wool longer (and smarter), I can go right to a polish pad and glaze or #83.

Totoland Mach- OK, thanks for the additional info.

Yeah, I should've gone with a wool pad on the M3 but I'm not about to start up the learing curve now...I bet you'll be glad you went that route after a little acclimation.

I had some scratches that looked similar to yours that I went ahead and put some paint in...we'll see if I end up just abrading it all away; I'm a little surprised that you didn't need to do that on a few of those nastier scratches.

So you're about to do the chips *now* huh? Are you planning to wetsand/polish/etc. or just let 'em be (considering how nice the car is at this point)?

Accumulator: I'll fill the few chips with touch-up paint and a rubber beveled edge "squeege". Then, I have a solution (part paint reducer, part linseed oil) to remove the excess from the squeege. That will bring the paint to level with the OEM paint. I'll probably put another coat of Meg's #26 when I'm done.

Very nice work Totoland! It's amazing what some people do to cars. :( Great turnaround.....black cars are hard to keep clean, but when done right, are a show winner everytime! :D

Out of curiosity, what kind of tire dressing do you use?

OK, gotcha. Heh heh, gotta have the magic touch for that technique (not surprised that you do) ;)
