Applying BF polish with PC/streaking

Thanks for everyone's help so far.

I applied blackfire enhancing polish to my PC spread it on the hood 2 X 2 surface. Turned up the machine to about speed 2 spread it for about a minute. Then turned it up to speed 5 and applied some good pressure. (Todd followed your instructions on the previous thread)


Here is the issue! After wards I immediately grabbed my dragon fibre microfiber cloth and started buffing away. Most areas were buffed off quickly and easily. After shining my light on the surface it some areas still had some polish marks and they would not go away no matter how hard I buffed.

Did I do something wrong here? I literally had to scuff at it with my thumb. Till now there are still some faint marks which seem to be left by the machine. Is this normal?

Granted it was about 90 degrees in my garage. hot one in Chicago! Could that be the issue?

I shake the snot out of it when I use it. It has a gelish texture.
I also use a white polishing pad and work it until it's almost gone
What kind of pads are you using?
 
I'm using the WHITE Lake County pads with BF enhancing polish.

I don't know what happened it's like the polish is stuck to the paint! my microfiber towels are not getting them off!!!
 
have you tried spraying some Black Baron pad spray on it? I used that on a couple of spots that I had trouble wiping some FPII off of.

Is it on the whole car, or just on some spots?
Have you tried misting some QD?
Or perhaps going over with the BFEP again and buff out immediately?
 
It's only on a small section of the hood. I stopped buffing after I couldn't get that mark off. I'll try to rebuff and spray some black baron on the pad this time around.

Very interesting. Because of the large number of variables we face as detailers or enthusisasts, we no set process works 100% of the time. If you are finding that the product is gumming up, try using less product and working it for less time. In the case of the Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish, try reducing work time and stop as soon as the polish begins to clear, then allow to dry a little before removal. This should reduce or eliminate the problems you have.

Remember Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish is not a dedicated swirl remover, so we are 'over cooking' it in order to try to get it to do what you want it to.
Keep at it and you will find out the technique that works best for you, even if you may need to switch to a more aggressive product designed primarly for swirl removal to get the results you want.
 
Just found out what could of possibly caused the streaking.

1) Heat...it had to be over 95 in my garage
2) I applied way too much pressure. I did a weight scale test and probably was pushing down 30-50lbs of pressure which I think caused the streaking.

I've seen streaking from heat, but not from pressure.

I have seen "hazing" or "buffer trails" from pressure.

Streaking would be an issue of the polish or sealant leaving a residue on the paint.

Hazing or buffer trails would be the polisher leaving a slightly cloudy appearance, which can be corrected by using a finer polish and a softer pad.
 
I've been using this product for years and never had any problems with it and I've applied it in a heated garage without no problems. Try using a 50/50 blend solution of water and iso alcohol that should remove any polish streaks. I use it to remove polish before continuing on.
