Applying and Removing #16

Just aquired a can of #16 and about to apply some before winter takes hold. Should I just apply it with a foam applicator and then wipe off with a MF or use my PC with finishing pad to spread it out evenly and then wipe off with MF, what the best way ?

I have only applied it with a PC and a finishing pad, but I can tell you that it's very, very easy and quick, so I doubt I'll try applying it by hand unless my PC breaks or something.



The way I apply it is to use a plastic knife and scrape some out of the tin. You don't want to take a big scoop, but repeated gentle scrapes across the top, like if you're trying to scrape the burn part off a piece of toast or something. This will leave you with just a little bit of product on the knife that's softened up some. Then I spread this on the finishing pad like butter. A little goes a long way, so don't apply too much to the pad at a time. With the PC at 4 or so, spread it around, and continue to work it in a little bit. This will help ensure that you have a thin layer and that it will be easy to buff off.



Remember, a little goes a long way. The first time I did this, after I was done, you could barely tell that I'd used any when looking at the tin.

make sure you buff it off really well. Ive been having a hard time buffing because it tends to leave an oily residue that on the right light looks like marring. My car is white so that makes it even more difficult. I use some QD with a MF towel to aid in buffing excess.

I apply it in thin layers by hand, a section or two at a time and then remove. Very easy wax to use.

BY HAND using very little athin coat let hase buff with a MF to a nice shine THIS works for me

EdLancer I have had issues using #16 but am getting better results every time I use it.



I was getting it to reskin on my black car once it hit the hot sun. This wasn't a big thing cuz it went away after the next wash but looked a little weird.



I also tried applying it with a small cordless I have an had trouble getting it thin enough ..



Last 2 times I have used it it has been cool out and what I found is f I used a yellow foam applicator and for the first bit I spun it in the wax to liquify it then scraped of all I could on the side of the can it was better . Then when I applied it I used circular motions and depending on the ambient temperature I would do 2' x 2' very quickly then immediatly before it flashed swipe the pad over it back and forth to spread it really thin. The warmer it is out the smaller area I'd do this too.



I would apply to a fender then a door, then remove the fender apply to another door .. remove the first door. etc etc.



When your pad is lacking wax just swipe it over the wax surface in the can once .. you want as little as possible on the applicator..



I bet 1 can of #16 will do 40 cars .. I have done 8 or better and there isn't even a dent in the wax in the can.

Dee-I've applied #16 to at least 25 cars and I still have more than half a can. Not only is it a durable and good looking wax but it is a tremendous bargain.
