Yesterday, i applied one coat of S100 to a zaino'ed finish (3 coats of Z2-Z6), which with the zaino alone, looked REAL good, it really enhanced the red color of her ride, as well as providing a highly reflective look. I decided i would first try the S100 on hers before my metallic black ride, and although i thought it would yet enhance the look of it by adding either more reflection or depth. What it did was it darkened the color, but aside from that, i don't know what it did lol :( Of course i understand it is a matter of preference, but as for me on a red car, i prefer the look of Z alone ;)

And to add even more confusion, my car that is metallic black and on which i expected Z to bring out incredible reflection, came out not that good........i mean it does have very good reflection but more like at the end of the day, when darker.

I think (but me be totally wrong here) that S100 whose look i didnt like on girlfriend's ride, will love on metallic black........maybe carnauba"s more suited on black cars after all.

any comments are welcome :wavey

Chip I did the #26 over Zaino and it added the depth I was looking for. I have yet to find S100 in a store.

hum, i have to say that your ride does has depth.....i have seen a bottle of meg's #26 at my local car quest.....i'll prolly go and give it a try, although i think i should first try the S100 a whack, since i already have it.................if you have a harley davidson dealership near you, chances are that they have S100, as i got mine from them down in quebec city ;)

3 Coats of Zaino is going to produce a pretty nice shine. The wax did work but you can't seriously think there would be an improvment to the degree of 3 layers of Zaino on bare clear coat......

Use 3 layers of the wax alone on a car that has nothing on it's clear coat and I'm sure you'll be just as suprised as you were with the Zaino.

I agree i may have been that surprised with 3 layers of S100 instead of zaino, as i haven't tried it so far. What im beginning to find is much have to do with the color of your car, when it comes to this wax or that one........some seem to enhance a certain type of color whereas another one will not.

I am using this picture from corvetteforum.com (user yogii).

I think Zaino is not good in red cars. It is very bright but it looks like plastic.

This is my car when I was using Zaino top with P21S (S100).

The picture does not show the shine because it was at noon but you can see the red is darker. The first picture is more on the orange color.

P21S makes the color deeper, wet looking and darker.

I don't know if I agree here .. I have done it .. 3 coats of anything will make paint look better than none .. But I know 3 coats of the numerous waxes I have tried doesn't = 3 coats of properly prepped and applied Zaino. Don't get me wrong I'm not a committed Zaino fan .. this is my first go round with it.. I will know more in the spring if its worth the time and money depending on how it holds up.

Deanski I did the FD thing from the belt line up a couple days ago ... best I have seen... I think FD prefers warm weather tho .. 40 F made it hard to dry and buff out .. but end result was wonderful. And smells nice. I am going to Wash. State in 2 weeks and going to look for some.

Chip -

That much is true, I have found that Klasse or Blitz wax will make my red Chevrolet (almost looks orange) appear darker. People have done side by side comparisons and it's cool to know there is something out there that will produce results you can expect.

Fidels - I'm with you 100%, something reflecting off the paint really brings out the shine that I feel; should always be shown.

Jezztsn - I have used different waxes, glazes and polymers. The difference in shine is minimal, almost none when each car is looked at in the same angle in the same envioment. If I mixed the cars up I bet you couldn't tell one from them other.

Have you used Zaino? I may not be able to tell on cars you have done .. but I have had 5 black cars and none looked like the Zainod one..

Jesstzn: i'm also a 100% with you on multiple coats making no difference. I too am trying zaino for the first time this year, and have to say i like it, but just like you i'll find out in spring if it's worth buying, after the ultimate test ; the dreaded canadian winters :bow . I have applied 4 coats of zaino Z2 + Z6 + ZFX and i'm 100 % sure there isn't any improvement in deepth or reflectivity.....but don"t get me wrong here, my car does look MUCH better with zaino on it. The look of Z on my car is much like i had more clear on the basecoat, at least that's what it looks like.

Having seen many car pics here, i'm not sure if i like depth much more than reflectivity after all.......i mean on my gf's car S100 has only darkened the color, but can't see much depth or warmth. Now, i'll try it on mine and let you know, as soon as the weather permits it........geez we had snow yesterday 2 centimeters cover the ground this morning :(
