I am considering putting some meguiars NXT over Zaino Z2 on my silver M3....the Z2 looks great, but it does not give the "WOW" I was hoping for...........I want the car looking good in a few days for the chrissy trip to see the relatives...the first time they have seen the M3, so not much time to experiment so I was hoping to hear from anyone who can tell me what the results woould be like form experience.

Will the NXT wax be worth the effort, or should I be satisfied with the very shiny Zaino ?

NXT contains cleaners. Not enough to totally strip the Zaino, but it'll do a good deal of damage. I'd skip it if I were you, no sense removing the Zaino unless you have to.

I'd top the Zaino with some sort of a paste wax if you have one. A carnuba wax will work much better on top of the Z, in my opinion, than a sealant.

I am with Homicidalsloth on this one. If ...and I say IF you need to top Zaino it would not be NXT. Would you consider using Z8? Many have said that the Zaino sealant helps with the pop that you are looking for.

If you really need to put a topper over the Zaino I would consider a carnuaba such as Souveran, P21s, or Natty's to give you alittle ore depth and wetness. I have to say that I did not see the difference on the vehicles that I detail. But others have said that they see a difference.

May be I do not see the difference becaue I know that if I top Zaino with anything but Zaino, I know that I need to practically start over to re-apply any other Zaino product.

My thoughts exactly. I have used Z8 and it does give you the extra pop/ wetness you are looking for. after you apply it you may not be totally impressed but let it cure and do it's thing overnight. the next day you will see the change. the biggest thing is that for me it seems to last a few weeks for me :nixweiss I am sure others will chime in as well to give you their view.

I have a silver X3, and when I got it I tried a variety of combinations: Z2+NXT, Z2+S100 and Z2+Z8. The Z8 is by far the best looking. The NXT and S100 just don't show up.

I'd say skip the NXT. It will probably do more harm than good. I have had really good luck with S100 over Zaino, but my cars are dark, so I don't have much experience with lighter colors. Might be worth a shot though.

He isn't happy with the look- Zaino is a clear sealant- The Mothers will add warmth. Zaino isn't the perfect product. Are you Sals internet rep?

I never said he should use only Zaino. I asked if you'd used your recommendation over Zaino since that is the question he was asking.

Are you Mother's and Tropi-Care's internet rep?

Yep, Z8 is in my "must haves" list; it'll do wonders over the Z2/Z5.

As far as a carnauba, if you insist on using one, I would pick either #16 or S100. :spot

The only thing I have topped Z2 with is Z8 and it does add a "certin something" to the look. I like it.

Oh by the way, I'm nobodys rep. It does seem to be a poor practice to advise someone to do something you have not done yourself.

My motto has always been; "Do it. Then talk about it."

I agree totally!!

But from what Sal told me. Dont use any products that contain silicone ( and most do) under or over Zaino. Zaino is not compatible with silicone products.
