Anyone want to give it a try?

I have all the 3 M stuff, Fine cut rubbing compound, Finesse It II, SMR. I have a PC, yellow, white and gray pad, wool pad. I am getting ready to do a prep on a 4 year old car that has some medium scratches and some water etching especially on the trunk lid. I am pretty sure I know how to get rid of swirl marks, but what is required for water etching and scratches?

From what I think I know, I will do a light wet sanding of the scratches and follow up with Finesse It and yellow pad, then SMR white pad. The water etching I was thinking of using the wool pad with SMR and then finishing with white foam and SMR or Finesse It. The wool pad scares me a bit, but I think it might be necessary to level the finish.

I was helping a friend clean out his grandfather's garage and I came across this in one of the cabinets. Just thought it was pretty interesting and wanted to share a photo with you all. Wonder if I could shake it up really good and give it a shot on the GTP? Just kidding of course!
