Anyone using Quickbooks Basic 2005?

How do you like it? Are the invoices easy to customize and use?

Thanks!

I have been using Quickbooks since 1995 and it's pretty good and very easy. I have never used anything else so I have nothing to compare it to. I have heard good and bad things about Simply Accounting and MYOB so I would compare all three and then make a decision but Quickbooks works very well for me.

I use QB Basic 04, upgraded from a late 90s version. Works fine for me...

Take the time to learn your way around and setup for your application...

I use quickbooks pro. Great package. Customizable everything. Only thing I wish it did more was allow more input of notes for customers. I hear they make an add-on for $70 that lets you keep and extensive customer database of information other than address/contact/account info. IMO it's a good program for the money.

Googledude,

The program you are refering to is called "Contact Manager" by Intuit. I bought it last year when it came out and returned it within two weeks. They made it so you could merge with other contact manager programs but NOT Quick Books. How crazy is that you can get data from another manufacturers product but not their own.

I would agree though, the quick books pro program is a great program and tool that can be adapted very well to our type of service.

Does anyone know of a way to actually set up a scroll down list on the screen while tiping an invoice, that I can enter different vehicle info. so i dont have to tipe it everytime i am writing an invoice?

If you have repetative "job discriptions" create 'items'. For example you can have "CD" as an item (our whatever lebel you want). When you type "CD" in the item field, on your invoice "Complete Car Detail. Including: ....., etc.," will show up - as well as a price if you set that in the item set up. It's something you need to mess around with our have someone show you. It is easy to set up and saves alot of typing.
