Anyone use Meguiar's Wheel Brightener?

Just curious to see if there any users and if so, how you like the product.



Is it harsh? Do you dillute it? What are your experiences?

I am also interested in this. It seems to be simliar to TOL power wheel wash which I have tried. The only part I dont like about TOL PWW is that it is a bit too "liquidy". How is the consistency of Megs WB?
 
I use it exclusively for tires, it is a great product diluted 2:1 and it is as good a product as A2Z. It is a watery consistency but it clings well enough to the tire to clean, many of the times I can apply this product and rinse and be done.

Yes...it is harsh...but 100% safe and effective if used on the proper rim. It is not safe for painted, anodized or uncoated aluminum rims...everything else (including plastic wheel covers) is just fine. I dilute it 4:1 and remove with a pressure washer. I tried to remove the product with a garden hose once and got mixed results. All of the product was not removed and it left a white residue behind.



Here is my rim detailing routine with Wheel Brightener:



Spray all four rims with a liberal amount of product.



Rinse rims with the pressure washer.



Go over the rims with soapy mitt after the vehicle has been washed.



Rinse again.



99% of the time I will not have to agitate the rim surface at all. Simply spay on and hose off. Wheel Brightener has been a

must have product in my detail arsenal for some time now. It is simple, effective and a heck of a time saver.

I am interested in trying out a diluted acid based cleaner 50/50 mix. I have heard this can be used on all sorts of rims. Let sit for 10 seconds, hose off, follow up with car wash soap.



It's just that some wheels I am getting have that baked on brake dust, as in I need #0000 steel wool and a delicate hand to take it off. :angry It takes FOREVER. I want to eat through it in a matter of seconds.

What does that leave? Chrome plated? Even black steel wheels are painted.

In short, if you don't have a power washer, don't buy it. I tried agitation/no agitation, rinsing with high pressure water (from a hose), rinsing with a fresh wash mitt. It cleaned very well at 4:1, but no matter what, I got that damn white residue on both painted and chrome wheels.



I think I will stick to Eagle One Cleaner and maybe pick up some wheel acid for the terrible ones.
