Anyone use collinite insulator ?

I had one very bad experience.

Someone had been using it on their boat. It had been applied to just about every square inch of fiberglass and it was a 35 ft boat.

It took days, not hours to remove that wax.

In summary, some detailers may boast about how easy it is to use, but the real question is; how easy is it to remove?

A professional detailer would rather not deal with a product that can't be easily removed.

Just my opinion...

Explain, I have waxed 60' with both the paste and the liquid fleetwax. Obviously, the liquid is easier to remove, but it has more solvents in it. To have trouble with it, ppl apply too much wax at one time and don't wipe it off immediately. Again, Ive waxed at least 20 boats that were bigger than 30', and I have never had a problem with this wax.

:bow detaling a boat that had Collinite paste on every square inch and wasn't removed WOULD be a long project!

Hope you got paid properly. :shocked

Actually it was way back when I first got into boat detailing. And after doing that job I thought that if all boats are that much of a problem it certainly wouldn't pay to get involved with boats.

Thankfully, that was the only situation I incountered. Been doing boat detailing ever since without those kinds of problems.

There's nothing better than detailing a boat, in the water of course, on a warm summer day.

Thanks for the kind reply!
