anyone use 3m perfect-it gloss enhancer spray?

97 bonneville/98 Z71
My dad got a free bottle of this stuff from a 3m rep at a classic car show in my area. I sprayed it on my Z71 and all I can say is wow. It made the paint darker and wet. I checked the MSDS and it contains water, carnauba wax, butoxyethanol, and IPA. While it contains hardly any, wouldn't the IPA strip a small amount of wax off overtime if used weekly? The IPA is less than 1%.

In addition, will this product wash off after one washing?

Also, this product claims that it can be used on wet panels. So, for those that use this stuff, do you use it like you would wax as u dry?

I tried it years ago. Didn't like it. Found that it left a bit of greasiness that wouldn't wipe off, and if any dust was on the finish, I found that it didn't lubricate enough, so I'd end up with marring. I found it to be one of the worst qd's I'd used. This was a few years ago, though, so maybe the formula has changed.

The Best Detailer that I have ever used. Easy on easy off. Can be used on wet or dry surface. Every time I wash my truck, I use it.

You tell me.

From my understanding, most QDs contain some alcohol, if not all, so the concern applies to all.

QD *does* seem to reduce the life of a wax, even if it keeps it looking clean & optimum until you stop.

I've wondered about this product also. Would like to try some out sometime but when I looked to order some it seemed too expensive. I may have to give it a try though.

Was using this five years ago and found the alcohol in it caused it to strip the sealant and waxes within four uses. The PH is 8.8 which is too high

Since then have tossed it out and almost all remaining 3M products and vow to never use any 3M product again once they are all gone

Menz Acrylic shield, Four Star UGE, Clearkote quik shine, Wolfgang, Pinnacle and Zaino QD's are far better

Yeah, I was curious also about the PH scale. I don't understand why it's in this range.

I tried a couple of years ago and didn't like it at all. It was even applied over other 3M products (paste wax) and it didn't do much for me. It actually seemed to REDUCE the gloss on my white truck ???!!!.....go figure. :nixweiss
