Anyone tried "trim dye" from detailking?

nope....

but i suggest A.I. etr 2 for a longer lasting

or CG trim gel (or your choice) for a short amount of time(varies)

I've used the "Forever Black" trim dye system. IT worked pretty well actually. I masked off the surrounding paint, prepped the trim to make sure it was nice and clean. Then applied thing layers of the dye, wait an hour or so, then repeat. IT worked VERY Well on my weathered trim, and has so far held up very well over an entire winters abuse.

So I recommend the forever black trim dye kit.

ETR II from AI and Trimonex(the same stuff at TOL) are both permament solutions, they are both latex acrylic emulsions. I can't speak for the Trimonex product(only had a 2 oz sample) the ETR stuff holds up a long time.

Another vote for Forever Black -- it works great for faded plastic that can't otherwise be brought back to black and it's impossible to tell that it's been dyed. Very easy to use, but be sure to mask everything that you don't want to dye because it dries quickly and is very difficult to remove.
