Anyone remember any good thread for PC newbie?

My PC will be arriving shortly and I want to read more on how to polish using a PC. I've read most of the articles by popular sites suggested here. But i still have some question and like to learn about other ppl's technique.

For example how do you polish something that's raised above the rest of the surface. Such as contouring lines on the hood? Would the contact surface between the pad and the paint be too small to cause problems?

A raised surface would be polished just like any other surface. With a rotary, that wouldn't be a good idea because of the concentrated heat that would probably end up burning the paint. The PC doesn't generate enough heat to really cause any problems.

Do a search for threads on the PC. Or just go through the last 10 pages of the machine polishing forum. I'm sure you could find plenty of information there.

If you've got more questions, just post them in this thread.

Do you have some questions in mind that you're trying to get answered by reading other threads, or just looking to read all the general information on the PC?

I am not sure what I will be facing when I use the PC. I don't want to run into problems when I use it and have to come here to ask in the middle of my PC polishing. lol ;)

You wont have a problem with the PC unless you decide to throw the thing at the car.. Its THAT foolproof.

Move the PC slowly

Work polishes until they are nearly clear

Don't be afraid to use speed 5 and 6

Use the least aggressive product/pad first to see if it will correct your defects

Prime the pad before use
