I know that some got them from a place called Griotts or something. But I am a big guy. Something to sit on that has wheels so I do not kill my back bending over to work on lower panels on a vehicle. I know RedCarGuy has something like that but the weight limit is like 250 lbs. I am about 330 and 6'4". I thought about just buying the Griotts one and just welding some support beams on it. Well if any one knows where to get a little scooter like that would you post a link please? TYIA!!:xyxthumbs

Not sure if this is what you are looking for....Can't beat the price though..

Seat

That is a heck of a deal. And yes that is what I am looking for. Just trying to see what is out there. Thank you for your response!

With shipping the jegs seat and creeper comes to $48. Is that still a good deal?

I don't know how much creepers and seats like that go for locally....

Anyone have a small rolling seat like the jegs one or the one bretfraz posted that folds up? Would be nice if I could easily fit it in the back of my truck to take with me.

I bought a seat like the one in the Harbor Freight link for $20 at the Shades of the Past rod show in Pigeon Forge, TN last fall. I think it's great, 5 casters for plenty of support and the base is made of pretty thick steel.

Intel,

I think I might go for it also. You really can't beat the price for both. I was in Pep Boys the other day and they had a cheaper seat alone for like $30.00.

compare what weight they will hold.. its not the braces for the seats so much as how the casters are connected to the base and the sturdiness of the casters themselves.. the one at Griots is $46 and they stand behind what they sell.. if it EVER breaks, send it back and you get a new one.. cant beat that.. I have had very good luck and service with them.. but get the one that is best for you.. the link to the seat at Griots is below.

I bought a cheapo hydraulic seat from Harbor Freight to sit on while detailing. Works like those fancy ones at Griots but sold for a fraction of the price.

Check it out here: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=45342

thats the exact one I have except that the seat is black... got mine for 20 bucks at a Tractor Supply Company, Inc. store here (well, technically my wife bought it for me as a christmas present but I had to pick it out)... works great thusfar, and I love the fact that its adjustable/versatile. :up

That is more than enough! That will be the one I am getting! Thanks for the link I appreciate it greatly.

Wife gave me the pneumatic Girots they sell at $139 and its great quality the adjustment for height is really what makes it versatile. I weigh in at 230 and don't begin any stress on the unit, saves the back when doing the sides or wheels with the adjust feature. Girots does stand behind any product but I think you will find this a very heavy duty unit The usual disclaimers.

You guys are great! This discussion yesterday finally motivated me. I am so tired of aching-knees/aching-back syndrome after detailing. And tired of schlepping all my supplies around the car with me. So ... I went to WalMart last night, and they had one that looks identical to this one bretfraz found. It was $25. I'll stick a bow on it and give it to myself for my b'day next month. :)

Way to go Lynn I enjoy mine somuch I polished the rims on the wifes CLK today to show her how much I appreciate the gift. It will save a lot of aches and pain on the back. Enjoy it.

Is that for instore purchases only??? I have never heard of Harbon Freight before so I was wondering if that applied to the online purchases as well.....

It is an instore ad, but I would think the prices would apply on-line as well. By the time you pay shipping for an on-line purchase, you just as well go to Wal*Mart and get the $25 one.

Does their web-site list any stores in your area?
