Anyone here affected by the fires in Florida right now?

Troy@Protekt

a.k.a. Troy@DetailCity
The interstate by us was closed for a while (still might be).

We saw and smelled smoke way out by Longboat Key today and there weren't any fires close at all.

Just curious if any one here is affected by them?

You want to know what's funny is I was trying to figure out if I should be using "affected" or "effected".
I always get those two confused. So I guess the spell checker couldn't help me on that one.

Affect is a verb and will usually mean “to change,” “influence,” or “impact”

Effect is a noun that primarily means “a result”

It was bad here today. Walked out my house this morning about 8 and you couldn't see far at all. It got a little better this afternoon. I hope that more people will want their cars washed as the ash/dust from the fire settles.

Not to feel bad I use spell check all the time and the funny part is there are some words that I can't spell to save my life...however I know how to spell them just bad enough that spell check knows what it is...:rofl

2 weeks ago we had a LOT of smoke from the one when it started in Georgia. It's been decent since, though a few days ago with the wind change, we had a little smoke from the one near Starke.

Now Jacksonville is surrounded by the fires; north, south, and west.

So far every day I got up at 400 AM for the past 5 days and their has been smoke in the air. Luckily I don't have any respiratory problems, but I have friends that do and they are having a ruff time.

Huge fires are all over south Jersey and are approaching very populated areas including a friend's new house...hopefully the rain that just blasted through here also went through New Jersey:pray:

So how's everyone in Florida, Georgia?

I also hear there are fires in Minnesota, and also California:eek:
