Anyone heard of/use "Ecolab" products?

wifehatescar

My L5-S1 is killing me!
A local detailer here uses Ecolab "sealants and waxes" in bulk. Ever heard of it, is it junk? The only Ecolab stuff I've seen is the bulk soap and floor cleaners for restaurants.

Another place uses "Phase 2" products, anyone have info on that either?

Just curious...doing research on my future local competition :)

Never heard of either and I used to detail in "the area". That building I told you about before is up for lease, but I dont think its gonna work out due to porr timing unfortunately (for me).

yeah, ecolab is a commercial cleaning chemical company. There main industry is janitorial and restaurant. I doubt they would be "autopian" standard, they seem like they would be high volume dealership product

Ecolab is up the road from me in St. Paul, MN. (big client of mine too). They actually make Blue Coral products (touchless car wash products and some retail products as well).

I guess I don't really know anything more then that....! never used the products or anything..

LightngSVT-

Sorry to hear about the bad timing thing. lmk in the future at all if you are interested in what we discussed :)

I didn't think either of those products were decent or else I would have heard of them on Autopia already.

:LOLOL I bet everyone stepped into this thread about to say, "Yeah they make restaurant cleaning stuff"!

It seems everybody is starting to sell detailing stuff these days... take ZEP for example. :nixweiss

I read the other day, that there is over 300+ detailing product companies in the US.

Eric

They are big in commercial cleaning products for use inshopping malls, stores, schools and factories. I believe they are part of the SC Johnson company if not, johnson make professional cleaning products for this and car's as well but the range is pretty basic so they would not be autopian standard

Have used them when i worked in a supermarket years ago. not bad either.

That is insane! That must include the "bathtubbers" too I imagine.... I wonder who buys all this stuff. I guess the market must be bigger than we think, because I would have thought that the bigger names we've heard of would have saturated the market already... even for bulk products.

Read that too when i got my regular professional car care online email the other day

There are going to be 300 on display at the 2004 car care expo in Las Vegas on April 29- May 1

Wish i could go to that one, i'll have to save up some big dough and go to next years. I'd have a field day in there.

Tell those people that sell these 5 year teflon paint protection products what i think of them.
