Anyone heading through Ft Lauderdale to DF Friday afternoon

I`m flying into Ft. Lauderdale airport via Southwest Friday. Plane is supposed to arrive 2:45pm local time.

Just curious if any Autopians would happen to be headed through that area anytime after 330 or so and wouldn`t mind picking up another Autopian from the Airport. I`m staying at the host hotel (Hilton).

Otherwise I will just Uber or rent a car depending on which seems the better deal.

Just figured I`d throw it out there in case anyone was going to be in the area and wanted to help a fellow Autopian out :).

Willing to buy anyone who may be able to help me out a gallon of some Poorboy`s stuff at DF if you want.

Depends on what vehicle I take.

Since I`m not in car show, and it`s St Pats weekend, I may bring truck.

Let you know.

you`re not in the show :o:redcard::cry::rant::dunno::dunno::dunno::dunno::drive::whaasup:

apparently we have a really good discount through my job so I just rented a vehicle for my weekend (midsize for 33/day with taxes/fees) not bad

it was cheaper than my last PA order, lol

Be prepared for additional "fees" when you turn your rental car back in at the airport. All kinds of additional charges that are not disclosed up front.

I was just in Florida last month and rented a car for a week. Thought it was gonna run $350, but upon turn in it was $500 with all of the BS fees and surcharges, etc. I work for one of the two biggest firms on Wall Street so I also got a corporate discount...

Not trying to be a Debbie Downer, just don`t be shocked when it turns out to be more than you thought.

On a brighter note, have fun and let us know just how good Poorboy`s onion sauce really is!

I have requested and read the entire rental contract and there are no additional fees that I see. Actually looking at the rental it would have been $93 if not for all of the fees they are charging me which put it around 130.

If I would have rented a car from west palm beach to drive myself back to the airport in ft Lauderdale they were gonna hit me with a $50 return fee!

I called as a normal renter and the same sized vehicle was 83/day plus fees...which I got for 29/day plus fees with my work perk discount which I guess is pretty good but I do work for a large insurance company so it doesn`t surprise me that they have a good deal for employees when they want to rent a car from enterprise.

I don`t know who in their right mind would pay the 83/day but that`s what it said.

The airport will hit you for a fee upon return. Enterprise is not charging it so it is not in their disclosures, they just collect it. Just tipping you off so you are not blindsided...

im going to have to call later today and ask.
the way it read, the fee only applied if i was returning to the airport and did no rent same vehicle from there.

they were going to charge me a $50 fee if I would have rented a vehicle monday, in palm beach, to drive back to ft lauderdale and leave at the airport.

the fee was because vehicle didn`t come from there

im renting from same facility im returning tool, so as far as I read and see, no extra fee.

but i will call again, several times and ask different people, after advising them "the call may be recorded"
