I've called most retailers in NJ that I got from Meguiars site. None have it. Looks like I'll be ordering it from Meguiars direct.

I'm surprised PAL Auto doesn't have the Speed Glaze Spilchy....

Ugh, I'm not up for that trip. I'll wind up buying more than I need! It would be cool if they had a website. I know carcareonline.com near me does not carry it either. I figured, I'd have to pay sales tax anyway so I'll bite the bullet and add a few extra $$$ for shipping.

I drove 45 minutes to a place today that I found on Meguiars site. Turns out it was a NAPA and all they sold was High Tech Wash and Final Inspection. That counts as a dealer of BSP Meguiars products!? Oh, I bought both anway to make my trip worth while. I used the High Tech wash today. It blows. I had zero suds. I squeezed out like hlf the bottle. But, it sheeted well. I'll stick with the GC. Best bang for the buck.

PAL ships though. I ordered from them and had them ship the Clay Magic. Still debating hether or not to get the 3M line from them.

Ship Clay Magic? You're in Staten Island! You can get it anywhere like WalMart. Do you have a Strauss Automotive or a Pep Boys? Both have a very nice selection of products and have a bunch of 3M stuff. They're a great source. Pep Boys has Clay Magic.

Spilchy, 200 gram bars. I purchased three 200 gram bars for under $60 shipped. They are the only place I found the clay magic red bar.

Give Cari at Boonton Auto Parts a call (973-334-2517). They don't stock many Meg's products on the shelves but if you call in the morning they can have it for you by the same afternoon. They make daily runs to their distributor where they pickup the Meg's stuff. I've dealt with them a few times and they are very nice, helpful and always have gotten what I needed the same day. I run there from work (in Roseland) and it takes about 12-15 minutes to get there. It's a minute off the Main St. Boonton exit on Rt. 287 north.

Thanks! My Saab mechanic is right in Boonton. I know exactly how to get there, but it's a haul - like 40 minutes. But, I can make a run since it's on the way to my buddies house. Good tip, thanks again.

Hey Spilchy, check this thread out: http://www.autopia.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24904&highlight=wash+suds

#00 isn't supposed to suds up because it's for bodyshop work like wetsanding. Maybe you'll like it better if you keep that in mind? :)

Thanks. Mike Philips as usual, sets the record straight. However, the bottle says 1 ounce per 1 gallon. People here and other places say only 1 capful (which is like half an ounce) for a whole bucket.

I wonder how much I should uses since it doesn't have much suds. If I do 1 ounce per 1 gallon, I'll be done with the bottle after 4 washes!

*shrug* :nixweiss As far as I know though, isn't 1 oz per gallon pretty much standard for most car shampoos? I never mix up more than a gallon anyway for washing a car. I find I just end up throwing the left over solution away, clean and unused....

We measured the amount of liquid one of our caps holds, and making allowance for other variables like, amount of product that clings to the inside of the lid, we found that 3 1/2 capfuls amounts to approximately 1 oz.

You don’t actually have to add more product to get more cleaning.

One of our chemists share a story with me about Tide laundry soap, (I think), in how Tide, (or whoever), came out with a low sudsing soap and touted some such benefit. What they found in fact was people would add more and more soap because they didn’t see any suds.

The result was a wash load with a ton of soap in it that one rinse cycle couldn’t remove.

What Tide, (or whoever), learned was that people like suds… lots of them.

#00 is a low sudsing, but high lubrication car wash. Use it at the recommended ratio’s and when it’s gone, purchase some Rich Suds Car wash or some “Car Wash Soap, (Part number D-2101 in the Detailer line) for lots of suds. Suds don’t really mean the soap is “Cleaning better, it just means there are lots of suds.

Kind of like the “Good Water Beading Characteristics doesn’t accurately indicate “Good Protection Characteristics, but rather it just means “High Surface Tension Characteristics.

It’s all about perception.

People like their wax to bead water. That is one of the reasons Meguiar’s reformulated their A-12 Cleaner/Wax, (maroon bottle), to bead water really well.
