Anyone have any experience with used Pathfinders?

Anyone have one or had one and care to tell me anything about them? I am looking for a daily driver for my Evo and my gf's uncle is selling an 01 loaded, white with black leather...just wondering of any issues, reliability, things to look out for, etc.

I had the infiniti version, a 2001 QX4, and it was bullet proof. The automatic drive system was awesome in the snow. I think overall the reliability is excellent on the pathfinders.

Bought my last gf one.. i think around that year. She's still driving it. No issues. And she does nothing but put gas in it.. Hopefully the oil has been changed sometime.

i've got a '92 pathfinder with 200k miles on it and have never had a single problem with the engine. the transmission was replaced several years ago, maybe around 150k miles. it had some minor frame rusting that cost about $400 to have fixed and re-welded just to be safe, this was about 2 years ago. not too bad considering its age and the wonderfull PA winters and all the road salt penndot loves to lay down. there's also some rusting where the running boards used to be... they rusted off, heh. a few minor electrical issues (cd player went bad, put in a cheapo aftermarket one that plays mp3's now), and the rear brakes have been an issue the last 2 years.

considering how old it is and what its been through, i'd say it's been a champ. the maintanence costs have been reasonable, and its a beast in the snow. i'm not sure how this helps you with an '01, heh, but i thought i'd share my experience.

I too had the Infinit version and it was an amazing SUV. Before we got the H2, we went and looked at them and drove one for a day. They ride too much like a truck for me. Very rough and not the same as they used to be.

I have a 02' 4x4. It really it a great truck. I have no complaints. It does require premium fuel if that matters to you. I found that with any fuel other than premium, I would get some knocking.

The exhaust system is prone to rust if the car has been in a winter environment for 60K miles or so. That's all I can really think of at the moment.

A friend of mine owns one. He's been having some random stalling issues when he puts it in gear. Probably around 60,000 miles on it. Other than that he seems happy with it.
