Anyone get aftermarket bulbs to upgrade stock halogens?

My recommendation would be the PIAA's. People I know who have used them have been pleased with the results. I bought some Catz Galaxy White's for my car, hoping I would get the ballasts later for the HID look. Unfortunately, Catz discontinued the Zeta ballasts, and I'm stuck with the Zeta bulbs I spent $100 for.

I LOVE my PIAA Super-Whites. Not a hint of blue.

I'm kind of sad that Jngrbrdman will be out blinding people with his ill-mated "HID conversion".(I use that term loosely)

Halogen housings are not designed to focus the light of HID properly. Even with a Catz kit where the bulb can be adjusted to sit within the housing, the cutoff lines and dispersion will be right out the window.

I understand the quest for better lights; I would love a set of HID's myself and thats why I have spent so much time researching them. However, unless you spend a lot more than "5 bills", you'll only be a menace on the road, blinding every oncoming driver.

Sorry to be harsh, but I have to share to the roads with you.

Eurolites often fail after a couple of months. Get SilverStars, PIAA and believe it or not, Cool Blue's from Canadian Tire. They last forever, not to mention the light is better than average.

I saw a test between silverstars, piaas and roadmax. After seeing the difference I purchased the Roadmax Metal White Xenon Headlight Bulbs #9007. They are outstanding. Whiter and brighter. Metal base instead of plastic and they only cost 19.95 a pair. If you want to see the test, send me your regular e-mail address to [email protected], and I will send you the link.
