Anyone experienced this pad cleaning problem?

I saw this warning on a site where I just purchased some LC CCS pads.

WARNING: Never clean foam pads or soak foam pads in dishwashing soap (Dawn) or laundry detergents. These detergents will attack the glue that holds the Hook and Loop backing material. Soak pads in a car wash shampoo or use ************ Cleaning Powder.

I've always used a pad cleaner then finished off with Dawn. So far no problems. Anyone had the glue come loose because of Dawn?

Good to know. I just bought an LC Orange Pad, washed it with hand soap though, heh. The problem I'm having while cleaning the LC pad was trying to get all of the polish out of it. If I were to ring the pad out, I'd still get a lot of junk oozing out.

I've always used Dawn and even 409 to clean LC pads, no issues yet and they're almost a year old. I've worn them out before any glue issues showed.

Are the pads from CMA....if so that may be why the warning....I use dawn to clean pads all the time..I have a mix of dawn and water in a spray bottle...I just spray it on....let it dwell and wash in a bucket..if I have alot of pads..I spray them..let sit for a bit and toss in the machine..have not had a backing issue yet....

Glad I only ordered a couple of 4" pads. I'll mark them and see how they do compared with my other 4" CCS.

At least shipping is free this weekend. Doesn't take much incentive for me to place an order.

I learned the hard way, losing a couple pads. Dawn is not the product that affects the glue. Its hot water. Dawn is fine, just use cold water and not hot water.

I've hand washed my 4 inch pads on the go with dishwashing liquid and had no trouble except the white pad getting a little torn up

I'll hand and machine wash in car shampoo next time.

Earth's choice laundry liquid is what I've used for microfibre and foam as I didn't think much of DP powder or pakshak rejuvinator.

It's a phosporous free product
