Anybody Going to SEMA this year?

That'll buff right out!
I was tempted, but not this year. Of course, I can only get away so often, so I'm going to use my "VIP Invitation" for the Barrett-Jackson Auction in AZ in January.

Anyway, I'll appreciate some on-the-scene reporting of detailing-related events/news from SEMA.

I'm going, and I cant wait.

Last year was awesome, as it was "Year of the Mustang". SEMA is amazing, 4 days and I still didnt see everything. I also came home with a bag full of samples that I still havent finished. I met Courtney Hansen, Chip Foose, Jay Leno, Barry Meguiar....And everyone was more than happy to spend some time and talk car stuff.

Here's a few pics from last year:

She is FHM magazine's Garage Girl. She has a column where she gives car advice to readers. She left Overhaulin because she is going to be hosting another show. The announcement is supposed to be made at SEMA this year, so I'll post it as soon as I know.

She is a real sweetheart in person. I was last on line to get her autograph, and she still spent about 20 min talking with me over a soda. Since she's a Mustang fanatic, it was a lot of fun talking about her GT, my Mach etc.

I was going to ask the same question. I was disappointed when she left Overhaulin' - I am not a big fan of her replacement, although I'll give her more time. I'm glad Courtney will be hosting another show.

RE: SEMA- we got our invites, but I have a stupid business meeting scheduled on the same days as SEMA. I am trying to juggle so we'll see.

My answer about going was yes then no then yes then no then yes then no then yes then no then yes then no then yes then no then yes then no then yes then no then -

finally the no won. I say I am going to go every year but I have never made it yet!

Tell me more about that VIP pass!!!!

Actually... she wanted more money to appear on Overhaulin. This other stuff was as a result of Overhaulin not renewing her contract.

:) Actually, I have two! One from a local/national Homebuilder who has SIXTY THREE cars, including a recent $400K Super Bee!

And, the one that I'll use, from my brother in Scottsdale. Skipping the detail, the local MB Dealer will make four available to him... these allow early (Thursday?), and complete, inspection of the Inventory. Apparently the only opportunity to actually touch the cars. Most holders are previous (Big League) buyers.

As an aside, my bro lives in a neigborhood where his 9 yo Grandson is coached in baseball by FOUR MLB (retired) players...

About now, I don't care where I go, I just need some time off!
