any wheel sealant non believers here?

I don't think a special sealant for wheels makes any real sense for wheels - they just don't get that hot.

Whomever said their wheels get glowing red hot must not have any rubber on them...anymore!

On the other hand, it does make good sense to seal or wax wheels for the very same reason you do it for the paint - to protect, promote less dirt/grime sticking and to make any that does, easier to clean off.

I've put Klasse AIO on my wheels.

I said the brakes get glowing red, not the wheels. ;)

Wheel Wax is a one step product, noticably cleans and adds gloss to wheels. I don't know the chemical make-up of it, but it cleans the wheels pretty well and leaves them slick 6-8 weeks. I got my first can from mosca and bought my second can from another Autopian, but now I see it at Discount Tire for $12. At $12 and no shipping, it is worth trying, IMO.

I agree that Wheel Wax cleans wheels and adds gloss, but it can also stain the "groove" of the tire at the edge of the wheel, and it's very difficult to remove, IMO. I've also found it a bit difficult to remove from the rim. These days, I use either 1Z Glanz (just for the ease of application and basic protection) or Zaino Z2. Neither seem to improve the look that much, but they're so easy to use (especially the Glanz), and don't cause any staining on rubber.

are you guys removing your wheels to seal them past the spokes?

On my own car, I will do this - sealing inside and outside of the wheel...

On anyone else's car, I will only do this if the owner removes and refits the wheels as for obvious legal reasons, I do not want to be responsible for removing and refitting someone else's wheels - I'm a detailer and not a mechanic. Perfectly happy to do my own wheels, but I dont want to be held responsible for anyone elses... :)

They are typically a painted/CC'ed surface, so I can't think of any reason not to use a sealant. I use Rejex and have had great luck with it. The wheels look great and the are much easier to clean and it lasts a long time. I haven't noticed any improvement in dust accumulation, but it is far easier to clean the wheels and my primary objective is to avoid using harsh substances like wheel cleaners. Once treated, there is no need for wheel cleaners, just regular car shampoo.

I just use the same durable LSP that I use on my paint on my wheels and it has worked outstanding for me. I see no reason to buy something different just for wheels that are paint just like the rest of my car.

Well, I *do* use KSG on the wheels of vehicles that have a different LSP on the paint. I use KSG more often on wheels than on the rest of the vehicle.

I can give you the location of the dump it was taken to months ago, might take some searching to find it though:chuckle:

Probably the one on Wiles Rd in Pompano Beach. I thought it smelled like wheel sealant last month, but I couldn't place the smell. :LOLOL
