Any opinions on Griot's Garage products?

Their undercarriage spray is excellent, but, like everything else on their website, way too expensive for what you get. Their undercarriage spray is $40 per gallon. Huey Chemical's undercarriage spray is $9 per gallon. Same stuff. Different color.

I'm glad to hear that the Griot's undercarriage spray is good stuff. I just ordered some last week to give it a try. But I'm glad to hear about the Huey Chemical wheel well dressing. $9 a gallon is a great value.

I tried to visit the Huey Chemicals website, but apparently the site is infested with malware.

Griot's claims they have the best sprayers but I've had to return two already and now the third sprayer isn't working. I think they charge $2.99 a piece. They will exchange it for a new one but better have an extra sprayer on hand to use.

OK, I'll bite on this one;

In a sense don't we all do the same thing?

Is there a member here who has not received satisfactory customer service from Griots for a product which disappointed? AND does anyone know of another company which offers essentially a lifetime satisfaction policy??

Yes, I do. We have ALWAYS done the right thing for all of our customers. To us, it is not a matter of time limits, it is a matter of doing what is "RIGHT" for the customer. The only qualification I have is that the customer be fair with us. The guy that runs over his polisher with his truck and then say it "just broke" is probably not going to be helped. On the other hand for a customer that has an honest issue, we will, and always have, tried to make things right with them. I believe we have a good track record in that regard. If there is ever an issue that someone has not been happy, I am always available by phone, (800-628-7596) or email, [email protected] or pm on this forum.
So, include us in your list please.

On a related subject. While we have been more than open on allowing members to talk about any products they use, I always find it interesting when a new member?s first post starts a thread about a competing brand of products. I just get a little suspicious. Maybe it is just me, but the first post????? We received an email last fall, like others did, about Griot?s starting to except other etailers as wholesale accounts. At that time, and in conjunction with things we are working on here, looking at the products they had to offer, I decided not to pursue the line at that time. Who know what the future may bring, as most of you know, this industry changes rapidly.

:iagree:I also find it interesting that "Dave6" has only made one post and has chosen not to respond to any of the answers we posted for him. Maybe there's a "Club-Griot" that we're unaware of and they've sent their spies to lurk and ask questions!!!Boxing :smile:

I will tell any future or new members that I have always been treated 200% outstanding from at Proper Auto care. PAC is an Outstanding company to deal with. On returns to exchanges I had no problems. Like Jack said keep it fair. Merry Christmas to all.
Sincerely
Eddy

Jack, please keep in mind that I bought a fair amount of stuff from you this past season but;

The Company under discussion kicks butt in the warranty, guarantee, customer satisfaction end of things. To set the record straight they guarantee -satisfaction- for 180 days or three times the length of time that you cite on your web site AND they guarantee replacement for defect for any product, including power tools, for life. For instance if I buy a buffer and it poops out in two years, they will -replace- the unit- not send it back to the manufacturer, but send me another-if ANYONE else does that I really want to know who it is.

And, in case some don't realize this, they continue to formulate and package all their branded chemical products.

I'm sorry but Richard does own the bragging rights...

Now I am also quite certain that nowhere else but here would this thread be allowed to continue for as long as it has and PAC owns the bragging rights for this.

I can tell you first hand that PAC does stand behind everything that they sell. If I ever have an issue with anything they always make it right without any issues what so ever.

broker99-Neither myself, nor anyone else has stated; either directly or through innuendo that Jack/PAC does not provide fantastic products, service and pricing: and for anyone to do so is irresponsible.

But it would also be irresponsible for me NOT to point out facts about the Company under discussion which is all that I have done.

Griots Garage is unique in the industry and any honest discussion of them requires that this be made clear-they are both a distributor and manufacturer and it so happens that they have the strongest support.

When your markup is 600% this is easy to do ^ :sarge

I have a whole shelf full of there products. Most all are pretty good, but not any better then the other 8 shelves of products that cost 1/2 the price :money:

Most places that offer top notch customer service rarely are the cheapest place around. It is often why they are still around...and others are not. I have seen to many people chase a few dollars difference to have the satisfaction they paid less. On a $100 order, does 5% ($5) really make much of a difference.

Where do you get these numbers?

If a product from Griots is going to cost you $100. I guarantee you I can find a product that is equivalent for around 1/2 that

You may call it one thing, I call it another. If someone wants to be a sucker and get jammed in there wallet be my guest :Dancing Dot:

To me, if you purchase your products thru Griots, it reaks of being an amature detailer

I had drifted off topic when I started talking about people who price shop the same thing to save a few dollars.

But to your comment, I just see it as a personal decision. It is their money and I do not think it has anything to do with being an amateur (meaning not experienced about detailing).

You may think they are not informed that they could get it elsewhere for 50% cheaper (I am talking about some tools). Some people like to buy from people with great customer service and warranties. Detailers count on these people with disposable incomes too who value their time over money.

Car care product wise their products are prices about the same as many private house brands..in fact, there seems to be some price matching...for example, lots of waxes/sealants (many that CG wants to take credit for making) starting at $15 to $17....why?

BTW, I have never purchased anything from them or used any of their products.

Well, my time obviously isn't very important to me as I can't seem to push away from this keyboard :o

Thats why I love Wal-Mart. I can buy something, tear it up 2 years later and go get a new one, no questions asked :soldier:

I also have never purchased anything from Griots, but literally have a whole shelf of there products. I have a client who doesn't know the 1st thing about detailing, but he insist on buying/using there products :out:

Everytime I do his cars, he places a new order from Griots. He tells me to just keep whats left and I oblige. This to me says something, I get there products for free and still have no desire to use them

Wow. I opened a can of worms.

To clarify, no I'm not a Griot's spy. Twenty years ago I owned a detail shop, that my ex-wife ran into the ground, and now I just do it on weekends now and then. I manage a police equipment store, and with long hours don't have much time for internet forums.

Over the years I've had a couple show cars, and a few years ago Chevy High Performance and Camaro Performers featured the replica '69 Sunoco Camaro I built (#6).

Have not used PAC products yet, but asked for some for Christmas...

Have used Meguiar's, Zaino, Collinite, P21S, Astro Shield, and ...........

Thanks to all for the feedback.
