Any interior window fogging solution ??

Could you tell us why, specifically? I was actually going to pick some up from the auto store tomorrow.

I applied the product as recommended, yet found my windshield fogging up much more than normal. I cleaned it off completely and gave it a second try with the same results and what looked like some smearing where it was applied. I checked out some reviews and saw that others' were having similar issues. Of course results will vary, but this was my direct observation.

I hear that the AC "dries" the air.

So, hair dryers for women. You know how they blow out hot air?

Shouldn't they blow out cold air to dry hair? (Trying to figure out the logic here)

Same goes for laundry clothes dryers. Shouldn't they blow out cold air then?

The compressor in the AC system is what removes the water, might be a little large and cumbersome to add to a hair dryer though ;)

Not to get too technical or to step on anyones toes but the a/c comes on with the defroster to allow the pump to run and circulate refrigerant/oil thru the system to keep the seals lubricated and to stop "lot rot" within the system. In warmer climates this is not a problem but in colder areas the a/c is not used enough year round to accomplish periodic cycling.

If it's cold outside make sure, once you warm the car up, the recirculate knob is set to outside air. This will bring in drier air which will hold more moisture. This is a pretty common problem because people leave it on recirculate or forget to turn it back to fresh air.

I hope this helps!

Same with myself and many others. The Rain X Defogger is worthless. The Glass Science on is OK. I applied it on the drivers side of my interior windshield and not on the other side and there was some improvement, nothing major though. The think I have noticed is that keeping the interior glass clean will keep the fog under control to a degree.

Thanks for the tip. Fortunately for me, I rarely use my recirculate because I get paranoid that even after a few minutes, I'm taking in too much C02 :grinno:.

Just to help you make sense of it all, hair driers create evaporation where water in liquid form becomes a gas. If hair dryers where to blow air equal or less then the temperature of the rest of the room, evaporation would be extremely slow or not occur at all.

In the cabin of a car, condensation forms when the ouside temperature is cooler than the inside temperature. When water condenses on the surface of glass, it brings with it heat parcels in order to cool the inside cabins temperature.

Sooo by running the A/C, which has cooler, less humid (dry) air, your replacing the warmer, humid air in the cabin to meet the outside temperature. This prevents condensation. By using warm air (like a air dryer), you would be increasing the cabin temperature and more imortantly, the humidity. This results in a greater temperature difference between the inside cabin and outside and forcing condensation to occur.

OMG.. I can't believe I wrote all that. Am I smarter than a 5th grader? :tumblewee:
