Any boat owners out there?

Just was curious how many people on autopia have their own boat? Where do you go boating and what kind of boat do you have? I have a 1990 Bayliner Capri 2050 with a 4.3 I/O Mercruiser engine. Don't let the year scare you, as my boat is in very good condition. I'm only 2 miles from the big lake michigan here in Wisconsin, but I prefer the smaller lakes. I boat for recreation purposes only, as I don't fish. I'm planning on going out maybe next week for the first time this season after I change my lower end fluid.

We have a 2003 Sea Hunt 23' Center Console with a 225 Yamaha 4-stroke outboard. It is not used as frequently as it should be because I am usually the one stuck doing most (my dad helps a little) of the work. It really pisses me off when the entire family goes for a ride in it and then I am stuck cleaning it up in sauna like weather.

Couple of pictures. I know it isn't tied up properly...we were docked for a few minutes to pick up my mom, my sister, and my sister's friend.

After I get done detailing all of my customer's boats in the spring, I finally begin to get out there on the water in my kayak. We have got plenty of lakes, rivers and back bays here in Southern New Jersey to choose from. And there's a lot less maintainence required to keep that kayak looking good.

My uncle has a 34' Lightning. Twin engine, 75+ MPH, its a sick boat. Too bad he's a crazy *** who hasn't put it in water in two years. He's about 150 pounds overweight, and a real jerk (read: high stress level), so I might have a new boat soon :).

III,

It is the intracoastal waterway. Skull Creek to be exact. The intracoastal is just a series of rivers, creeks, bays, etc., that maintain a minimum depth and are marked with navigation markers. It runs the east coast as well as the Gulf coast, and is like a highway for pleasure boats.

I'm a rookie boat owner. I've been living on mine for about 6 months and life is good. It's a 1969 Nautique (made by Glastron) it's 36ft and is powered by twin 318 Chryslers (pulls 2 skiers.) I just installed my computer system in it......I missed my computer badly......Gotta take some more pics of the boat when I finish cleaning it up....

18ft Chaparral bowrider for me. I have had it for about 6 years now and I love it.

Good feedback from everyone so far. Pats300zx, Chaparrals are nice boats. If I'm not mistaken, Chaparral is rated better than Bayliner, but I'm not sure 100%.

That would be true. ;)

My dad has a 1994 33' Sea Ray Sundancer. This pic was taken about 2 years ago when I was cleaning it, out of the water. It needs my attention yet again though.

My brother and I used to have a 18' Mariah Barchetta that was a blast to tool around in...Man, I miss the water :(.

I have the perfect boat...

I mainly go out on inland lakes, but I also go out on Lake Michigan once in a while. Sometimes just to screw around in the waves on a hot day, other times to snag the massive carp that swim the shorelines.

I've got to start going down the rivers too. Rapids are so much fun!
