Any American Idol Fans??

I'm glad you guys got a kick out of it.

I must be seeing something different because everytime I thought he did great the judges gave him a hard time and everytime they praised him I thought he was not as good. :hmmm:

Two shockers for me tonight.

#1 I'm shocked they sang Shout to the Lord (but thought it was great).

#2 Michael Johns got voted off.:wow: He was definitely a favorite in our family.
I agree on both points.

#1 - I missed the biggest part of the opening of the show and just barely caught the song out the "corner of my eye", I had to ask Mrs. Clean if they really said what I thought I heard.

#2 - IMHO, this was a situation where Simon actually got it right. He picked the wrong song. Parts of the song were just out of his vocal range. He is, however, a better performer than either of the two girls that were in the bottom three with him.

I used to be a big fan of the show, however I am convinced that Randy and Paula are idiots and that Simon makes the show, and the Fact that Ryan Seacrest is the host makes me vomit...if I hear Seacrest out one more time I may strangle him:D
And I am convinced that Simon is not in the same league as Randy who is a true musician on many fronts and is exceedingly more qualified to judge than Simon. While Paula's musical expertise could be questioned, and perhaps rightly so, the fact that she is a performer can't be questioned. From the aspect of pleasing an audience she again has Simon beat. From my perspective Simon is there for "stirring the pot". His actual expertise is hightly questionable. The fact that he pronounced Carrie Underwood to the be "greatest Idol" is just one of many examples of his questionable abilities. (I do "get it" that that particular statement was a marketing ploy)

I saw this last night, and I have to say the look on that guy's face was great. It made it worth it to me since I had family over and it had to be on the television. Then, when they threw him out the false hope of "last year, we didn't kick anyone off, but this year you're going home" I literally laughed out loud.
I thought that was totally uncalled for. Very bush league.

My hopes for the final four are:

David Cook
Brooke White
Kristy Lee Cook
Jason Castro

I agree. It's bad enough they torture these contestants with all the suspense but then to say that was very un-cool.

As far as having the best vocals and vocal range, I think Syesha Mercado and David Archuleta are the top two.

As far as talent and being entertaining, I think David Cook and Jason Castro are the top two.

David Cook's performance of "Billy Jean" was my favorite Idol performance so far.

To my ear, Syesha tries to expand her vocal range and winds up off-key out of tune. Her shot at Dolly's I will always love you was one example. She was mostly just shouting.

Agreed, that arrangement of Billy Jean was genius. It totally suited David C's performance style.

Another of my favorite performances this season was David A singing Imagine. That said, I think it is close to time for him to go back home.

When Idol comes on my wife goes in another room and turns it on. I on the other hand quit watching it once they get past the preliminary rounds. I just like to watch the people who think they have talent during the first couple of weeks. After that I just can't follow it.
