Any Advatage to NXT

Matt M, you're right. You can make a car look good with a variety of products. That's specifically why my post never said anything about it being better than any specific product. I'm sure a car would shine with 3M products or whatever else. I haven't been to any of those events, so I don't have experience with them.



I think NXT is a good product. Are there better products out there? Possibly and probably. And without the right prep work on a damaged finish, I don't think NXT would make it shiny and nice (might help, but wouldn't yield the desired results).

I was impressed the day of the event with the ease of use on and off and the results of it. Then I was impressed that it's still holding up and looks great a week later. I still stand by my statement that it's a good product.

Scottwax, not fair to compare your results with NXT!! You've got a pair of arms and hands that could make a bucket of spit look awesome on junkyard beater!

Actually, since I started using it with the PC, I am even happier with it. Aurora40 and I, along with the owner (a complete detailing newbie) clayed his 350Z, polished it with Meguiars #80 Speed Glaze and then applied NXT wax and honest to God, you could not look directly at the sun as it reflected off the silver paint.

Again, we only used one polishing product and one protecting product on this Z (which had about 22,000 miles on it and minor cobwebbing in the sun). IMO, NXT is a very goof proof wax for the average consumer and an excellent product in the hands of an experienced detailer who properly preps the paint.



Do I only use NXT? No, I also use #20 Polymer Sealant, Wolfgang and Poorboy's EX-P when I reach for a sealant. I like them all and have obtained excellent results with all of them. Remember, it is my name on my business and I won't use a product that doesn't live up to my or my customer's expectations.

And..I may add...I am really tired of folks saying that they went to a Meguair's Sales, er... Detail Session, and after using DACP, or #9, or some other "prep" product(s), that the NXT looked so great. Any wax would look good over that much prep. Autopians know how important prep is, right? If you went to a 3M, or even an Ardex session....you can bet your car would leave there very shiny too.

Autopians do know the importance of good prep, it was evident by how good most of the cars looked before the detailing sessions...and every vehicle that went into the bays came out looking noticably better than when they went in.



BTW, since I have been to one of these sessions and it seems you haven't, I just thought you would like to know the main emphasis is on the process and not the products. Of course, Meguiars wants people to use their products and they do give out a nice goodie bag but they did make sure everyone understood how important the initial prep is to the end results.
