Anti Autopia?

I can't keep up with winter. It has snowed at least every other day since my last post of, how often do you wash your car in constant crapola weather.

It just keeps snowing and snowing and snowing....

and 17° for highs don't make the trips to the rinse of bays any fun either.

in ABQ. first since small amount in Dec.

First time I get to see the ClearKote Vanilla Moose/Moose Wax/QuikShine combo bead up.

Nice tight beads. Watching the drops roll off my car as it sits in the parking lot.

Beads water on the windshield like the "rain-X" effect, too.

V-v-v-v-e-e-e-ery impressive!

Question for all:

Am I sick? I knew rain was in the forecast for today and tomorrow, BUT I felt the need to wash my car yesterday so it would be clean before it got dirty.

Y'know, I didn't want to soil my "dirty" car, putting "new" dirt on top of "old" dirt.

Might as well start with a clean slate, right?

P.S. My "dirty" car consisted of a few dried water spots along the well wheels after driving through puddle in the street on Tuesday...

Finally! A car that I can relate to...APT's looks like a lot of cars

around here in the winter.

Having lived in Phoenix and Albuquerque as well as Minnesota,

there is something of a 'conservation of agony' theory

at work here. Minnesota has winter which is hard on cars,

no doubt. But in the southwest desert a lot of cars with

spotless undercarriages had interiors that looked like they had

been through a thermo-nuclear reactor.

Here in MN a lot of rusted out heaps have pristine-looking

dashes with no cracks. And the worst salt damage I've seen has

been on cars in San Diego near the beach. The air-borne salt gets everywhere and attacks year round.

You can't win I guess. My preference would be in a warm dry

inland climate. Anyone live in one of those?

JonT, two saltmobiles + one stored right now

We've had so much snow that I have to remind myself that I'm not really driving a sled!

I don't mind the crust of salt as much as giant pot holes in the middle of the road. Sections of my drive to work make me feel like I'm a test driver for Road & Track doing the slalom test!

How many more days till spring? I can only dream...
