I want something that makes the tires look "new" I dont mind a little gloss I guess, but no NXT-like shine. UV and ozone protection is a must, I like 303 but it doesnt last as long as I want it to.

I think I want one of the three in the poll, those of you who have used one or mor of the above please vote for the one that best maches my needs!

I have great results with Meg's Hyperdressing for little shine but a new look. I have some eagle one crap kicking around for those that request the high shine look. Anything water based isn't going to last long compared to the solvant based stuff. However the silicone solvants are the high gloss slingy types... Pro's and con's to both ways.

I think from what I have used and seen in pictures on this forum:

Dupont Teflon tire shine= nice new look sheen no sling

Zaino Z-16= same, a longer lasting dressing

Gloss-it= satin sheen with a bit more gloss

Adams/Chemical guys VRT= a nice cream, satin new look

Mothers preserves= A very underrated product, great matte look

The venerable Original Armor All= this is an all around great looking product, and sooo cheap.

Swissvax Pnue= low gloss great look

I use Meg's High Endurance. It lasts a long time, even through rain or a wash, and you can vary the "gloss" level from almost matte to high gloss depending on how long you leave it on the tire.

I wipe it off really well after just a minute or two and have very little gloss but very black tires and absolutely no sling. I'm not sure why more people here don't like this product.

Plus it makes me want to lick my tires. :p

thats surf city's beyond black.. i think it looks pretty much the same as the black magic mette finnish spray. they are both simmilar in durability ime.. but no tire shine lasts long wen you live in the boonies with a 1/4 mile of gravel for a driveway haha. forgive the dusty rims. ps. i kno you like those non matching centercaps too. lost 2 ikon centercaps, my buddy gave me 2 voxx centercaps ha

With reference to Surf City and Black Magic I have both and just revisited Surf City to compare the two. Both look very good but I find Black Magic Matte definitely dries better on the tire than SC.

I always apply two very thin coats with a sponge applicator with all the products I use incl #40

I just find Black Magic Matte to be the look I like and the durability is very good....It is also reasonably priced.

This is what I do also. It works great on smooth sided tires like my lightning. After a wipe down they have a slight sheen and are very black. Not the veg oil look. On my garage queen the look last months.

The only problem is that the gel is very thick, when I apply it to tires that have the "ribbed" side walls I cannot get the product to evenly coat the tire without over-applying. Then the ribs do not allow me to wipe off the excess well enough. I ended up with sling all over the side of my truck. :grrr

So I can see where people are coming as to not liking it. Some products do not take well to some tires.

On the difficult to dress tires I have been using AA tire foam. I wash the tires and let them dry a little, spray foam on tire and let dwell. After 20 min of doing something else I wipe them off, and then was the wheels. It is more of a matte look then, and the look last 1-2 weeks on the DD's sometimes up to 4 weeks depending on weather.

Opti-Bond has a nice black satin finish, perfect for people who like a "correct" look. Most of my customers like more shine though. :nixweiss:
