ANOTHER pressure washer discussion

Well... today my karcher pressure washer decided to fail for the 2nd time. Actually the first one wouldn`t turn on after about 2-3 months, the replacement (under warranty at the time) lasted over a year but it burned me today again and won`t turn on. 2 units in a little over a year and I`m done with karcher. I can`t have my equipment not turning on when I am on location trying to do a job. Sadly my warranty was only good from the original date of purchase, even on the replacement. So another warranty claim is out.

So what are people using for electric pressure washers? Specifically more in a commercial enviornment. I don`t use mine daily, but 1-2 times a week. I`d prefer to get something in the 1800-2000psi range. Just need something that will be reliable

AR Blue 383 ,their 25ft extension(sold separately) is a very handy addition. I can wash my car parked at the bottom of my 2car length driveway while the PW sits pretty inside the garage. If mine craps out, I might give a smaller model a try only because I need to load it in my sedan sometimes along with a bunch of other stuff.

There`s a prime deal now on Sun Joe SPX3000 on Amazon. It`s $115 before tax!! It`s a 2030 PSI electric pressure washer.

I`m not necessarily looking for the best deal. Needs to be electric. Just want to know what everyone`s experience is with them with how long they last. Can`t trust karcher at this point

The Sun Joe pressure washer receives a good review and it`s #1 best selling pressure washer in Amazon anyway.

I`ve got the AR Blue 390ss. Saying that, I imagine the Karcher is just about as good. I`ve read a ton of posts about electric PWs and it seems like it is the luck of the draw on electrics. I bought one on sale on Amazon, then got a 3 year warranty figuring on having to use it once or twice. Now my gas PW, I expect it to last much longer.

What`s your thoughts on it? That`s the one I`m looking at right now. Is the hose really as much of a nightmare as some reviews are saying? It seems like the one to get besides the sunjoe one which is roughly the same thing but offers a 2 year warranty. Decisions decisions

Would you really want to trust something named SunJoe ??? :)

I cannot think of anyone who uses an electric commercially that has not had it die after some time...

I have had a gas powered Devilbiss 2.0 gpm for a couple of decades and it has never done anything but run...

Coupled with 50 feet of heavy duty hose in 2 sections, and a long wand, I can do anything to any part of a vehicle easily and then drain the hose, make a large circle with the hose, hang it on the frame of the washer and roll it away...

Maintenance - change the oil every 2 years or so, (Briggs & Stratton engine) change the air filter when it gets dirty, and change the spark plug when I think about it, at least every couple of years...

Run it on regular or mid-grade gas and its happy as heck..

The Pump assembly is underneath and looks easy to change out when someday, it might crap out..

Yeah I was skeptical of the sun Joe brand just based off the name.

Right now I prefer electric because I`d rather not be putting a gas powered one into my van. I gotta haul my kids around too and would rather not deal with any fumes or smells that would inevitably happen.

I don`t expect an electric one to last forever compared to a gas one, but karcher obviously has a problem with their switches that causes the units to fail prematurely. I`m 100% certain that both of the ones I have (both dead, just won`t turn on) could be fixed by replacing a switch. I just don`t trust the Karcher ones anymore right now.

In a few years when I move up to a truck and trailer, gad powered will be a sure thing.

I was planning on getting the AR Blue (undecided between the 383 and the 390ss) but will probably go with the 390ss. If you do get one keep us all updated.

Ended up buying the 390ss. I wish I had more time to research but needing one asap really takes that time away. What little I was able to do led me to just get the 390ss.

rlmccarty made a good point about it being luck of the draw. Karcher had 2 chances, both failed, trying my luck with the AR Blue brand now. Hopefully something as simple as simply turning on is something they made sure will work as long as the pump itself

I`m looking at one by Snap-on at Menards, not too large, lower price incase of failure.
Snap-on is a name brand, and it`s RED match my cart.

I`ve been using the AR 383 for a few years now. It`s been a fine unit for my needs. I will say AR Customer Service is very good and responsive to my emails/ questions etc.

Thanks for chiming in Angus. I was pretty sure you were the one that brought this brand to my attention originally but couldn`t remember for sure. I`m also looking at the little baby Ryobi ones at home depot. I like how small it is and low to the ground but I guess if I get the longer hose I shouldn`t have much to worry about.

Sure thing man! Upgrading to a longer hose regardless of brand / model is a good idea. In total, I`m using 50ft of hose and don`t have any issues with reduced pressure. Yes, it`s a small PIA to coil back up afterwards but it`s easier than moving the PW around while in use.

For any others who might still be researching, here`s a site to look over. The dude also has a YouTube channel, I believe.

Pressure Washer Review – The best gas and electric pressure washer reviews

edit - well okay, he doesn`t have much video content other than the one listed above (`cept for unboxing and whatnot)

I just added this to my wishlist, I really want one now due to how slick it looks, the size is ideal for mobile jobs and the attachments are neatly placed in it. Thanks for sharing this!

I really like the size for the same reason. The attachments is another nice plus. The right angle nozzle can come in handy for wheel whells (maybe) and are put in place pretty well.

And, you`re welcome :)

edit Just to add, Migue from the little I`ve looked, you won`t be able to attach a regular foam cannon to this. Not yet anyway?
