Another PC Concern

Does anybody have any tips on using the PC around emblems and pinstripping? I remember reading that the PC took off pinstripping not too long ago. Thanks.

the PC only takes off pinstriping if you're using SMR or PI/FI2 and a CMA yellow pad (or equivalent abrasiveness). But either way, I would just try and avoid going directly over emblems and maybe only hit pinstriping minimally with the edge of the pad, the rest of those areas can be done by hand. :up

I just detailed an older car a took off an embellem with my pc. I did not realize the adhesive hold the embellum had dried and was just barely holding on. I have had no other problems with my pc.

Thanks for the replies. I'll try to keep it off my trunk panel and around the pinstripes.

I have just one more question. I ordered 1 yellow and 1 white pad from CMA that should arrive tomorrow. My question is, if I try 3M SMR with the white pad and am unsuccessful, is it safe to use the yellow pad with the FI-2? Is it too aggressive? Or should I try SMR with the yellow pad and if it doesn't work, FI-2 with the white pad?

well I don't have any vast experience with the PC, but this weekend I gave my truck a quick rub over with a yellow polishing pad and Perfect It II and the results were really good. I had started with FI II and the polishing pad (which is yellow too, but not CMA), but it wasn't removing a lot of the marks.

I think you'll be fine, it worked out nicely for me. I have pinstriping too, but I plan on masking it to be on the safe side.
