Lately it's been "Chrome" by Trace Adkins .

Awesome driving on the NJ Turnpike at 0500 hours this past Sunday. What are some of your favorite driving tunes?

:chuckle:I'm a car audio fanatic and home hifi lover.

Last month, I've compiled my list of driving songs, divided into Sprightly and Relaxing.

SPRIGHTLY

Pat Metheny - Facing West (from album: Secret Story).

Instrumental only, no vocals.

Very upbeat, motivating and lifts your spirits. Lots of natural instruments.

Just makes you feel so happy!!!! Great when driving up them hills fast and hard, or when cruising briskly along that coastal road overloaking out into the ocean while on holiday. Listen to it on Youtube first.

Incognito - Colibri.

Instrumental only, minimal vocals

Wow!!! This'll get your *** swagging and you jus wanna jive buddy!

Hard driving bassline, extremely funky and uplifting.

Shalamar - A Night To Remember (vocals)Instantly sets your feet tapping and gets your *** moving! If you're above 40, you might have heard of this song. Classic! Watch it on Youtube!

Very punch, with strong beats and highly uplifting. Puts a smile to your face.

Feel tired and want something to wake u up without irritating you? Try it.

The Whispers - And The Beat Goes OnJust like Shalamar. A damn classic and gets you into theat funky, feet tapping mood.

Just don't overspeed though! Try Youtube first.

RELAXING

Instrumentals (modern piano + fusion).

- anything from David Benoit, Karukas and Daniel Ho.

Simple melodies that's relaxing but not too quiet until it's drowned out by road noise.

Great when you're driving at night and want something pleasant and classy to listen to, while having normal conversation in the car.

Slow vocals

If you like Spanish - try Luis Miguel. Very sweet and romantic with lots of natural lush-sounding strings.

I also like songs by Andrea Bocelli. It's slow and majestic but could put you to sleep behind the wheel.

Another classic that gals will simply love is Lee Ritenour's Voice of Linda (sung by Caetano Veloso).

Pls try the 1st 4 sprightly songs first from Youtube, and if you like it, I'll recommend you more:har:

I just (finally) checked this thread out. Found lots of stuff that I too like for driving, also found a lot of choices that leave me  :nixweiss

And when I'm doing serious driving, I turn the music off.

But the last few times I was flying low in the S8 I was really into Brian Setzer's "Drive Like Lightning" and the earlier version of it, "Radiation Ranch".

lozer- Welcome to Autopia!

Heh heh, one member here liked Zombie's Black Sunshine so much he uses it as his Autopia user-name!

I have Jump, Jive, and Wail and Dirty Boogie on the playlist for those "spirited" driving moments.

Yeah :xyxthumbs Those are on his Ultimate Collection (live) Set that I play on roadtrips. Accumulatorette is kinda  that all his stuff can sound like the same song, but maybe that's part of why it makes the time pass well for me while not putting me to sleep.

New Highway Songs

Give Me Everything - Pitbull/Ne-Yo (Could also be used for spirited driving/drag racing)

In The Dark - Dev
