Well I jumped thru the 53 previous pages of so these are probably aldready mentioned. I drive a tractor-trailer 11hrs a day and listen to a lot of various types of music but favor old rock and new country such as Meatloaf Bat Out Of Hell, AC/DC Highway to Hell and Back in Black and for country its Alan Jackson,Toby Kieth,Kenny Chesney. On a slow traffic day its mostly old Motown. You an see my taste is kind of dated. My kids ask me if I remember when rainbows came in black and white.

Dated lol. Im 29 years old and I listen to more music from the 60's - 80's than I do today's music. IMO that was when music was music. I love the blues and classic southern rock like Lynyrd Skynyrd, BB King, Robert Cray. I listen to Stevie Wonder, Ottis Redding, AC/DC, James Taylor, Don Mclean, Jimi Hendrix and all kinds of other stuff lol.

I dont really like country music but I will say that I can respect the old country singers like Hank Williams, Box Car Willie, etc. I dont like the way the newer country singers are today, I mean when did stage explosions, flashing pants, and designer hair do's become what country is about.

I play the guitar and am learning the piano so this is where I get my inspiration from. It was also what was played in the house when I was growing up. I used to get in trouble when I was little because I would try to play the records when I thought no one was looking.

RDave, I grew up on a mixture of Motown and Classic Rock. Therefore, I know what you mean. Additionally, there were points and times where classic rock songs would get heavy rotation on R&B stations which made me appreciate the music more. As Bob Seger once said, "Today's music ain't got the same soul." However, I do listen to some of that as well.
