Another Corvette Detail

Here is another Corvette detail that I did yesterday. It's a 1993 40th Anniversary Corvette convertible. The car was in ver good shape to begin with besides the crappy factory GM paint they used on the C4 model Vettes.

This was a complete detail inside & out and I had to do a little rim repair.

My Process:

Washed exterior, cleaned wheels & engine compartment

Buffed complete exterior with Menzerna Intensive Polish by rotary

Buffed complete exterior with Optimum Polish

Hand application of AIO

Hand application if RMG

Hand application of Natty's Blue

For the curbed wheel I used 320 grit sandpaper to smooth out the scratches and then polished back the finish with rubbing compound followed by AIO. I know it didn't come out perfect, but at least it takes your eyes off of it from a distance.

Here's the pictures:

Yes, I work for a dealership which deals with a lot of Corvette's as well other kinds of cars.

nice job on the wheel! when u polished it, i suppose you did it by hand? .. also would this work on my bmw alloy wheels? :)

Terrific job on the wheel and especially the paint! It almost looks like a candy red!

Just curious though, as to why you hand apply AIO instead of via machine. :nixweiss
