Android or iPhone?

DK, i just Z-5'd my tinted windows over the weekend and I gotta tell you...they feel like ICE! I wish I'd done them a long time ago. Reflectivity and shine are just amazing!
 
Zaino on windows rocks. It really adds to the detailed look of the car and makes the windows reflect as much as the paint. It also keeps them slick and water spot free after a car wash. I don't use any fancy window cleaners, I just wash my windows with car wash when I wash the car, and spray detail them with Z6 afterwards. They come out perfect every time. Z1 is not required....just use Z2 or Z5 on your windows......
 
I have the same problem with the water spots that you have. I did the whole procedure and the were still there. Someone suggested that they may be acid rain spots? that have eaten into the clearcoat.



BTW, I was given the suggestion to wet the Zaino applicator with Z6 before putting the Z5/Z2 on it. It helps keep it from absorbing into the applicator.

DK, yup, on the outside. On the inside, I find that the tint film provides a smooth surface and any sort of cleaner isn't really necessary. Anything dirty just wipes right off with an MF.
 
Re circular vs. linear: for the record, Sal says circular on the Z1, linear on all others. As a car is usually really clean before Z1 (having been Dawn washed, clayed, etc. hopefully), with a proper applicator and technique, I would not see a high swirl risk in this one case of using circular motions.
 
1. Z1 is non abrasive and if you use the proper applicators you have virtually no risk of swirling if you use circular motions.



2. For those water spots, it might be deposits that look like etching. Go at it with the vinegar and soak it for a while. That should do the trick. Those water spots are stubborn!



3. I clean the inside of tinted windows with Z6....works great!
 
Which phone offers more app's, the iPhone or Android? Also, which one allows tethering to laptops for free? What are their good points and bad points?
 
I vote Android, but I'm kinda biased...

The Good:
- Solid operating system - have had one problem that was solved with a reboot
- Fast startup
- Depending on the phone, you can change out the battery
- Many apps are free

The Bad:
- Battery life is just okay; you will have to charge it every other day or so
- No, the app library isn't as huge as Apple's, but there is still an abundance of useful apps
- They aren't cheap

PdaNet works great for tethering, but it costs $19 for the full program.
 
As far as apps, the iPhone has something like 120,000, while Android has around 30,000. But, that is growing quickly.
 
Palm Pre Plus on Verizon has free tethering, right out of the box.

I wish that my Sprint Palm Pre had it though!!:(
 
Get a iphone and you can jailbreak it and unlock it.I used to do that as a side business.I've been ion T-Mobile for years and bought the G1 when it first came out.As mentioned before the battery life stinks have to charge it everyday as far as apps there are free tethering programs and one that is better then PDaNet for less money.I wouldn't get the G1 they have better models out now.
 
I have an android and love it. If you are going to get an iPhone I suggest you wait. The new 4G version should be coming soon. It suppose to be called the iPhoneHD.

I've doing some reading over the last few days on 4G. Sprint thru Clear (they own 51% of clear) has 4G right now in some of the major cities. Atlanta is one of the cities, but it does not extend down to my area.

Since the Sprint Evo is not out till mid June (rumored) A wireless card/adapter for your laptop or a wireless home modem is the only way to get 4G service right now.

From what I also read, the 4G coverage is either not that good or they are having issues with the wireless cards. If its working properly 4G should give you 10-12mb downloads. 3G right now is 1.5mb downloads.

My good friend started working with ATT again as a networking consultant. As far as he knows, nothing is in the works for a release of 4G from ATT in the immediate future. Verizon is working on 4G but there is no release date yet.

I'm not eligable for a new phone from Sprint till Dec of this year. So by then I will know if its worth it to get the Evo. Maybe they will have the 4G running solid by then.
 
I'm a huge iPhone fan, but when my contract runs out I may look other places.

It will run very slow on occassion, and I have to reboot it 1-2 a week because it freezes. Also the screen breaks very easily.
 
iphone has more apps.. but ratio wise android has more free apps to p2p apps.

I would say get the iphone if you want it simple. However... if you want to customize with no limits, then its definitely android. The android OS is still in works and is constantly being updated, each version just gets better ;)
 
Thanks for the replies, everyone. After reading some of your responses and doing some more research I think I'm starting to lean towards a Android phone. I currently have service with AT&T and while the service (both signal and customer) has been good so far, I don't like the fact that if I wanted to tether my phone to a laptop, they will charge me more for being able to do so. I also don't like the fact that they nickle and dime you for everything and also that there are big gaps in their service plans. If you want to bump up my plan, say from 500 or 700 minutes a month to 900 or 1000, I can't. I would have to go to 1100 or 1200 (I'm just using these numbers as a rough idea, my wife takes care of the plan for our phones). There's no plan in between to fit our needs exactly. :doh:

Brian, that evo phone is awesome!! :cornut: I may have to jump on that when it comes out. If I don't get it, I'll probably end up getting the Dell Mini 5 when it comes out in a few months.
