The most important for a sparkling glass is not those chemicals that u put on...

The glass WILL be sparkling if it is extremely clean. The key point is to get all kinds of dusts, stains, and dirts off. As u said, you ahve those stains on the glasses, why don't u try to wash the windshield with soem stronger detergent?

"Simply Green", i'll recommend. IT's actually a household detergent.. used for countertop?? I donno. IT tells you to silute them before you use them, but no way!! just spray some of them on (2 sprays are enough for hte whole windshield) then spray a lot of water on the windshield..

then use a wet cloth and do some serious rubbing.. Rub it like crazy.. and also make sure that the windshield stays moist..

When u get tired for 2 minutes, it's probably tim to stop rubbing and stat rinsing..

jtu rinse the windshield with a host..

then use a squeegee to wipe away the water.. If you feel that the glass is not smooth when u r wiping it, redo the pervious steps..

after you wipe it with squeegee get some towel and get rid of any water remaining. or marks left by the squeegee..



This will remove any substance ontop of the glass.. and all the oil on the glass





Those windows cleaners.. windex.. newspaper.. are all useless.. as they leave oil on the glasses.. (don't forget that finger prints are also oil)

using this products may look good when it's not bright outside. but when there is sunlight shinning through the glasses.. u'll see how much oil those products leave on yr glasses.!!



Try to remove all dirts on the glass instaead of putting layers of oily chemicals onthe glasses if u want yr wnidshield to be sparkling and clean...





If you still have the problem.. do the fingerail test..

just touch the glass with yr fingernail and see hre the dirt is..

if it's noto the outside.. checkthe inside of the glasses..



even if u don't touch them.. some dirts deposite on the inside of the glasses.. I dono Y..

but u can use the same method to clean the inside ofthe glasses. jtus put some water absorbing clothes at the bottom so that u don't make a mess in yr car.. andso that u don't have any water going into any vents..

AAAHHHHHHH!!!!!! :shocked :scared I just poured 8 quarts of fingerprints into my engine!!!!! I'm gonna go get them out of there right this minute with some Simple Green and a hose!
 
To ensure that they are totally free of any contaniments use #60 garnet paper. :shocked :shocked



He refers to them as "glasses", does this mean eye glasses. :shocked

You don't want to get into a flame war with the guy but I think it would be best to offer a counterpoint or alternate opinion and let the readers decide which process is better.



I'd first say that while SG is good for engine cleaning or interior spot removal, it is not made to clean glass. The chemicals in SG might even damage the glass if care is not used. Just make the point that SG is a harsh chemical and not a mild glass cleaner.



Then offer some of the popular glass cleaners we talk about here and tell them they are specifically designed to clean *automotive glass*. That's why Windex and household cleaners do not work good on auto glass; they're made to clean appliances and the like while stuff like Stoners Invisible Glass and Eagle One 20/20 are made to clean auto glass.



IMO, the best tool for cleaning glass is a microfiber towel. Tell them to use one towel specifically for glass and to keep it separate from the others, like in a Ziploc bag. If the outside glass is really dirty use a paper towel for the first cleaning then use the MF.



Glass cleaning is super easy if you use the right products. Simple Green is NOT the right product.

Let me guess, based on the spelling, grammar and rampant misinformation, you got this off an import site, didn't you? :p



Like Bretfaz said, point out there are automotive specific window cleaners and Stoners and 20/20 will not leave any residue visible in the direct sun if used as directed on the bottle, especially when MF towels are involved.
 
Its more than just the Import boards. That is the same way my 14 year old sister types to me. Its just the thing that teenagers are doing these days. Its the new jive. You can always tell how old they are by how they type. I thought that kids these days would type better than my generation does because they have always had access to computers. Its just the opposite though.

I have a friend who likes the whole rice thing... He doesn't know what rice is though. He thinks rice is just sticking body kits on, big spoilers, and the 6" exhaust tip and he is right, but he says as soon as they start to do stuff to the engine though they become "import tuners" and are no longer rice... right...

I guess they all failed keyboarding in school.

I never even though of anything like keyboarding when I went to school. They had typing classes but that was usually girls.

My kids had keyboarding and must have done fairly well, I can understand thier emails.
 
Im insulted. I'm 18..

I type like a normal human being quite properly.



Although the shortening of things does become a habit

when your talking to people who type that way all the time.

but I'm "Old-School down to the Commodore 64" when it comes to computers so

that probably why.



and yes it was a V6accord site actually. lol

not 100% true per se... due to their having access to computers since day one, they have just been made to be more lazy. Why type whole sentences when you can be lazy and come up with 3 or 4 letter abbreviations for longer words?? :doh



Example: "I dono Y" = "I Don't Know Why"... you just typed 7 characters (including spaces) instead of 16 characters the long way. This is less than 50% effort exerted to get essentially the same message accross. :nixweiss

so don't try and pin it on imports alone.

Remember idiot drivers who now drive imports

according to you any modified import is rice? Why is that? you don't think imports are any good? Imports are the trend right now sure. and being the trend that means they are pretty popular and attracfting a large amount of people. and as we all know alot of people don't really know what they are doing when it comes to cars be it detailing, performance or taste.





Domestics had their Muscle Car Tuner Glory Days and its imports turn. There are a bunch of domestics modding their cars just as stupidly as any civic or integra owner. Not gonna count how many altezzas i see on mustangs and your very own F-150.



I love cars on both sides people who can only see one view are completely ignorant and narrow-minded.



So don't blame the real tuners.

a Sleeper Debadged AV6 with AEM Intake, Unorthodox Pulleys, Headers. then with my Exhaust(Supersprints, not a coffee can) and suspension and Braking being my next phase of upgrades.(if your gonna go fast you should be able to handle right and stop.)

I'm not sure, but I think if you go to your first opening post and delete it, all the stuff that followed will be deleted as well.
