Ladies and gentlemen, I write this with a sad but diligent heart. There is a full Amber Alert covering both Canada and the USA.

 I figured it had something to do with him. As TSC17 said, you are indeed brutal, but this chump deserves all of it.

Nice one :xyxthumbs

I am brutal, no doubt about it... but here's the thing... I find this mostly funny but what is especially interesting is that the folks here (on autopia) are generally pretty forgiving and what Tyler hasn't (yet) figured out, is that if he acted with some humility, there is no doubt, everyone would let it slide.

So, now I'll act as his legal advisor - since he hasn't yet figured out what to do.

1. First he needs to call back lambo dude (he's not responding to his calls). He needs to say, "listen, I got in over my head and felt like I didn't have a lot of options so I just kept working. I'll pay for the damage and I apologize".

2. Apologize to Todd (I can't believe I'm writing that because he is my arch enemy ;) )

3. Explain to the various forums that he misrepresented himself and his detailing knowledge as he felt that was his way to get "in" the business.

4. Admit he has a lot to learn and he made a careless mistake.

My bet is, he does the above, and nobody would bat an eye.

Super advice. :2thumbs:

It is the only way to handle this and bring it to a satisfactory ending for all parties involved.

In all honesty since he isn't legal to work in the US he should just send the money back to Lambo Dude, send additional money for the repair work, apologize to the owner and issue a couple forum apologies and learn from his mistake. I doubt that the Worlds Greatest Detailer would humble himself that much.

Who is going to drop a dime to the IRS about the 4 grand? It's not like his name and address aren't available. Did the Lambo owner pay him in cash??

Technically, the IRS does not have jurisdiction over him and would need to charge him with a crime and move for extradition. Obviously, we know what would never happen, although if I were him, I'd make darn sure I'd report the "world wide" income to Revenue Canada. Even if it is just 4k, they're sticklers for their 50%.

Scott,

Funniest post I've EVER seen in my life. My wife is looking at me as I'm crying in front of my computer thinking I'm nuts.
