So I had mentioned before in another thread, my wife and I are going to Vegas with another married couple and they set up the stay at one of their time shares so I told them I would detail their newish car as a thanks. The paint was really hammered and had some RIDs that I could not get out on a one step but I did the best I could with what I had in the time frame I told them. Actually I am lucky they were fine with me working on it longer than I had originally told them. I'm bummed that I finished as the sun was setting so I couldn't many good after shots and I was running pretty late so just snapped a couple.

This paint was really hard so I tried to be aggressive with the pad and light with the polish. Test spot shown with HD Polish on LC Foamed Thin Wool. I did do a test spot with an LC White pad and HD Uno but a little hazy and HD Polish on LC White and not enough correction. No photos of those. Some minor DA marks not really showing up on the cell phone camera but would have had to do a 2 step to get them out and they weren't very noticeable so I let it go with them. I did however 2-step some smaller areas using a B&S 3" Yellow with HD UNO to cut and B&S 3" Blue with CarPro Reflect.

Thanks guys!

Great job! Is it just me or is most GM paint on the hard side?

Yes sir. My Cobalt paint is really hard. I did a White Silverado and the paint was a little softer but not by much. The rest of the Chevy's I have done were all quick wash/wax type jobs.

That turned out really good. GM paint is generally on the harder side. Not Benz or BMW hard, but hard enough to be enjoyable to work on. I'll take hard clear over that super soft sneeze & scratch clear any day of the week.

Great job! I am a weekend warrior and always liked to detail cars but a long time ago thought I would take it to get "professionally done". After getting it back seeing what I saw, that's what really made me get into it more. I did a better job myself. So you being an "amateur" really means you are better than some "professionals" out there! :D
