Am I Using Enough Product ??

In the past, I've been a guy who like to use too much rather than too little product. I'd glom it on -- and if it was tough to remove by hand, I didn't mind (I figured it was a sign of extra protection and toughness I had applied).

Any thoughts on the following amounts I used:

(1) I used nearly a whole bottle of clay lube on 2 cars -- did I overdo it or is that the right amount? I may have overused, as I didn't want to risk roughing the clay over the car (esp. my new one) since that was given as a warning to avoid.

(2) I'm guessing, but it looks like I used about 1 ounce (maybe a bit less) for each of the coats of Klasse AIO (about 1/8th of the bottle used for 3 coats so far). Does that sound about right or should I have used more (remember, I did a Civic and a Camry).

(3) UPP: Looks like I used a bit under 1 oz for each run, about 0.75 ounces (3 coats so far took up about 1/8th of the bottle again). Too little UPP or too much or right amount?

(4) PC with SSR: I'd say I put 5 or 6 drops on the applicator for each 2 or 3 foot square section. Looks like around 1 oz for the 1 use I did, maybe a bit less judging from what's left in the bottle. Too much or too little?

I don't mind using more if that's a "better, thicker coat" -- I don't mind removing the stuff with elbow grease and in all honesty, the MF towels really made taking off stuff alot easier than I remember doing this regularly 15 years ago.
 
Thanks Charles......they say better to put on extra coats thin-wise than 1 "thick" layer so maybe going thin and light is the way to go. At least that's what I remember from using Liquid Glass on my Corvette.

My Civic is like GLASS...really slick. I thought it was nice and smooth the day I picked it up from the dealer on 6/30...man, it was like oiled glass the other day!! Want to keep that finish, add more protection for the winter, and keep it glossy with lots of layers. Oh yeah, will do inside next (not too bad, car's only 7 weeks old, nobody's eating McDonald's in it!!) and clay the windows. Windows really stick out as dirty when the rest of the car is slick and sleek and shiny.
 
Clay lube goes quick, I use a gallon every two weeks, and I average about 5 full details a week. Using too much is better than two little, the clay will catch and smear on your paint instead of gliding back and forth. I havent used AIO or UPP, but i've read a very little goes a long way. With SSRs, I use about a nickels worth per panel, it goes a very looooonnng way. I know when I've used too much cuz it takes way too long to break down. Hope this helps!
 
You can easily go through a whole bottle of lube for 2 cars. I actually use regular car wash soap as clay lube. After washing and rinsing, I'll leave the car wet and make up a fresh bucket of soap. Using a clean mitt, I'll soap up a section, clay, re-wash, and then rinse.

The amounts of AIO and UPP used sounds about right. The appropriate amount of SSR depends on the product used. SSR1 is a thinner liquid and will spread further. The other SSRs have a more creamy texture and will require slightly more product per section.
