How long does it take me? Well on one hand I guess you could say that I can make the car look bling in and out in about 5 hours. Although like others I have moved on to other areas and am constantly doing something, trying to achieve another level, and then another. So by that token, I guess you could say I started when I joined autopia and to date, am not done...

As for speed, the more you do it the quicker you will get :xyxthumbs

My wife is finding this funny!

Lynn, The only problem I have is with the wife - after I wash and dry she gets a "wedgie" when I break out the UPP or SG and really rolls her eyes and mutters whenever the polish and a PC appear. To her a vehicle is ONLY a means to get her to and from the destination du jour.

:lol Yeah, but aren't there things she does that are similar? Like maybe she starts to just vac the house, then decides she needs to dust, then decides some of the furniture needs polish/tung-oil, etc.? I.e., something she does that she keeps moving up to the next level too? That might help her understand what you're doing with the vehicles. :nixweiss

But, yeah, I face the same thing too. :sosad I think it's not just because of the time and effort I put into the work, but because -- when I'm doing it -- the whole rest of the world disappears for me; nothing else can distract me. I think maybe folks can resent not just the time we spend, but the total absorption -- the "zen state" we get into.

Lynn, I polished another Lightning a few weeks ago. Started taping at 9:00AM and finished about 7:00PM - 10 hours and only 4 smoke breaks - I cannot remember where the day went, but the truck sure was purdy when I came up for air (and a couple of beers) at the end of it.
