Aluminum Wheel Polishing Kits

Hey, it's been a REALLY long time since I've logged on but I bought a car with severely neglected american racing torq thrust II's. I really don't know what's good anymore and was thinking I would try and pick up an over the counter wheel polishing kit. I however don't know what the best way to go is, a mothers powerball..meguiars?? Please fill this clueless user in.
