I cannot figure out how to clear up cloudy trim on the Volvos around the windows. i used Never dull, polish, metal polish, but nothing happins. What material is that, and how would you get the cloudiness out of it? Thank you for any experience on this.

If I can remember right, it is actual aluminum. Now this is just what I saw on Swedespeed Forums. Not sure if it is actually true though.

If your having trouble with aluminum trim the way you are describing, it may be anodized. It is a coating that is put on electronically. It is put on to protect the aluminum and over the years fails and looks dull. It takes a chemical to remove it. Eastwood sells it. I have never used it on trim not removed from a vehicle though. Once removed you will have bare aluminum which will require maintenance. Unless you have it put back on. You can google the process to gain a little more knowledge.

As I said before I have never tried to do this with trim on a vehicle. If you go this route be careful and ask questions from the rep selling it. The guys at Eastwood are very helpful.

When you attempt to polish it is your pad/towel turning black? When aluminum is polished you will get a black residue. If you are not getting this residue it is because there is either a clear coat or it is anodized (as John mentioned).
