Aluminum Polish Recommendation?

Mr. Chemist said:
Remember that not all metals are created equal. If you do not get a high shine with the Mag and Aluminum Polish, it could be that your metal can only be taken so far. If you try the Billet Polish and get the same negative results...then I would bet the metal is just not highly polish-able. By the way, the recommended method of application for both products is primarily by hand.

I know its highly polishable, as all my aluminum accessories where surfaced and polished by either myself or a polishing/chroming shop a couple years ago.

Alright the Mother's product I was using with poor results was the Mothers M&A polish. After trying to work with it some more, I come to the conclusion that it simply was not aggressive enough to cut the oxidation I had. I had to swing by Wal-mart last night for other reasons, so I decided to pick up a can of E1 Never Dull.

E1 Never Dull

Application - very easy to use and apply. Tear off a pinch in one hand with a clean terry in the other. Work with never dull then clean and wipe with terry.

Results - Never dull did a good job of removing alot of the oxidation and restoring the luster and shine back to my neglected polished aluminum components (ie. Valve cover, intake manifold, fuel rail, thermostat housing, turbo compressor, blow off valve and throttle body). Note I said good, not great. These parts have been neglected for a few years so the finish really needs a more aggressive polish, or more elbow grease (ie die grinder) or a combination of the two, in my opinion.

Conclusion - I am very happy with the Never Dull. While I will certainly seek better results with work work and perhaps a more aggressive polish, the Never Dull seems like an excellent maintenance product, as its so easy to use.

Have anyone tried AUTOSOL? its from germany and seems to work for aluminuim wheels, i tried using autoglym metal polish but no avail. The finish was dull....

By hand has given great results, but by a buffing tool, whoa!! needed shades to look at it :)

I use the 3M aircraft polish kit. Comes with special sandpaper that you lube with WD40. Then apply the polish that comes with it and the results are unbelievable. I have tried all of the polishes and nothing comes close.
