alternative to sv wheel brush?

has anyone seen the envy valet brushes offered on ebay? they are supposedly very similar to the name brand ones we have all heard of. just wondering if anyone has tried these and would be willing to give a review.

Go to Michael's and into their paint brush department and pick up one of these guys. Its almost identical from what other members have said when I posted my findings.

what would that brush be used for? wheels/lugnuts or interior?

I use it for wheels. I think its too stiff to be used for interior so I have a dedicated super soft paint brush for interior brushings

I searched around the internet and found that the above Loew Cornell brush cited by eyezaac is called a duster/stippler brush (series 4). It comes in two sizes apparently and can be ordered here: Duster/stippler brushes.

Brush was about $4 or so after tax I think. I believe it mirrors the one by autopia but you don't have to pay for shipping

I feel the Michael's brush is like the Swissvax Detail brush and not the Wheel brush. Also, the Michael's brush has more give whereas the SV brushes are a little more stiff and more consistent/dense.

I'll repeat my usual caveat about using brushes that're *too* stiff and/or synthetic-bristle brushes, even those with flagged tips (the flagging wears away).



I know most people don't worry about micromarring SUV/truck wheels and nobody seems to have the problems I encountered with the flagging wearing down, but having had to refinish expensive wheels from using "pefectly safe!" wheel brushes I'd rather err on the side of caution.



Those natural-bristle brushes are, IMO, the way to go.

Besides the lugnuts/etc. I use brushes like that to clean the painted areas in wheelwells, inside door/trunk jambs, under the hood, and inside the fuel-filler pocket. Natural bristles are both gentle (once they're wet) and free-rinsing; I use 'em for cleaning all sorts of out-of-the-way areas.

The bristels also fall out more too lolol. It was an ok brush for $4. Ill stick with the Swissvax. Nothing has come apart yet on it.

Lol, yet again I have 0 problems with mine Denzil. Got the good sprayer from lowes and now a good brush from Michaels...



I must have a knack for picking out perfect things :getdown
