Happy Saturday everyone........I have a few scratches on my clear coated alloy wheels...I tried to get them out with P21S (the stuff in the silver tube?) today...but didnt do a thing..I know that the scratches are in the clear coat...and can be felt with my fingernail..but some are not too deep. I went ahead and put a coat of AIO/SG today until I find out what I can do...They are not too bad...but it bothers me a bit....I dont have a PC and hope to find a solution to do by hand..Thanks..Lance

An abrasive polish like 3M SMR or FI2 will work better than the P21S, try one. Use them just like you do on your vehicles paint finish.

Hmmm....I actually think P21S multi finish restorer is way more abrasive then 3m SMR. The reason I saw this, is because I got a scratch on my front bumper (polyurethane painted silver) which 3m smd wouldn't take out. I decided to try a drop of P21S, and it actually removed the paint right down to the adhesive on the bumper. Ended up having to get the bodyshop to blown it in. If you can't get it out with P21s, I imagine you need to do a touch up.

I have seen these cans of silver alloys spray paint you can get in almost any auto store. I forget who makes them. My friend tried one, and it matches pretty closely. Of course he didn't spray it on. Instead he sprayed the stuff into a plastic cup, and then applied it with an artists brush. Worked out pretty well.

There are also alloy wheel repair kits available from Griots I believe.
