All these acronyms and abbreviations!

Is there anywhere where a total beginner like me can go to to figure out what you guys are talking about? It took me an hour just to figure out that PC stands for Porter Cable. And then you've got all these references to "303" and "DACP" and whatnot. Sure, I can eventually figure out what it is you're talking about, but it might be nice to have a "cheat sheet" of some sort to refer to until I know all the terminology.

Not complaining, mind you. Just a suggestion.

Apart from knowing what the acronyms mean... you need to learn what the products actually do... and the best way to do that is to read :)

Im going wash this weekend and dry with a WW. I'll use some A2Z on my wheels. Then ill be using the PC with 1Z PP followed by 1Z GW. Ill probably use some MF's and IG to clean the interior of my windows too. :) I see how it can be confusing.

The acros page is a little dated. I went for two weeks reading about FMJ thinking, "That stuff sounds pretty good. I wonder what it is."

FMJ was just released less than a month ago. The acronyms take a little time to update, but it really is a comprehensive list.

Go to this site's "Home". On the left side, under "Features", select "Acronymns".

Excellent! Thanks!

I try to keep my mouth (fingers) shut until I've perused a new site thoroughly, but occasionally I just have to ask out of frustration.

It crossed my mind the other day to make a post about the acronyms.....then, I realized we had a key (albeit a bit dated). I thought about the possibility of people typing out the names when discussing some products--like they required us to do when I was in college. If you were going to use an abbreviation, you had to define it, first.

It's somewhat annoying when you have to look for the meaning of an abbreviation....and the process of looking for what the abbreviation meant took longer than reading the thread it was in.

A Greg mentioned, FMJ is a new product, and just because it is discussed here, it may not immediately qualify for inclusion in the acronym list.

The acronym list was updated on the 4/11 and uploaded for all to see on 4/13. FMJ was included.

I performed a search on Autopia for "FMJ". When the results appeared, I immediately clicked on the last page of the results which yields the first mention of FMJ.

The second earliest post on the list was a thread entitled, "Guys, what's this Menzerna Product?". It provides a direct link to what FMJ is: http://properautocare.com/refshinkit.html

There are several references to FMJ there, including some from the vendor.

No need to go two weeks wondering, when you can search in two minutes and have your answer.
